Thanks again to everyone for the words of encouragement. It's nice to hear. I worked on it for about 20 hours. Started on a Friday night at about 8pm then caught a few Z's and had it finished about 1am Sunday morning.

If anyone is considering the same type of upgrade I would suggest using a chop saw or umpa lumpas or magic elves or an army of small children to cut the all the piping because unless you are use to some intense physical activity cutting all the pipes by hand like I did will suck immensly.

Die grinder with a cutting wheel or sawz-all FTW!

:stickpoke BTW, I hope you remembered to debur and grind/sand the ends flat for the perfect fitment. I know it certainly made my assembly and alignment with the couplers go much easier. Not to mention, who likes nasty little metal filings flying into their turbos? Not I!

Quick question though, which reducers did you use? I am needing to reduce mine as I didn't realize that the stock was not 2.5" until I got and proceeded to install mine. I'm using small pieces of the original rubber as an adapter in the meantime and clamping down around that, however I'd like the best fitment possible. Is our stock 2 1/4 or is it smaller than that. I didn't want to guess as I only want to have to take it off to replace the ends only once.

If I wasn't so damned lazy, I'd go home and find a measuring tape to see what the outlets are, but I'd rather not get up in there unless I've got somethign to replace it with. I know that's kind of like putting the cart before the horse, but hey, I don't have a nice comfy garage to do this in and I have to lug my tools outside whenever I work on the car. I love doing it, but I want to be doing something productive rather than just measuring.

I was guessing it might be 2.25, but I wanted to be sure before ordering as those suckers are pricey and I don't want to be dealing with having to return them if I get the wrong size. I'm gonna have to go with 4 of those suckers I believe and that's going to cost me almost as much as the entire pipe set did.

How's your throttle response feel ;)?

Awesome. Especially if it's already moving. I am also going to have to pull out the shims on the waste gate actuator. Before I would hit around 9psi at full throttle and the response to the upgrade was so drastic that it would shoot to 10psi by 3500-3800 rpm at half throttle. I have not risked a full pull yet but I would guess 12 psi would be about right. Besides I'm sure I'll make around the same amount of power at 8psi with faster response and harder pull than I did trying to push the ct-26 to 9psi at wot.

Reducers were 2.5" to 2" at the turbo. 2.75" to 2.5" at the throttle body. Siliconeintakes.com around $11.00 each 4 ply silicone.

Was the reducer at the turbo a tight fit? Maybe my cousin doesn't know how to read a tape measure :nono: .

Perfect fit nice and snug and not a struggle to get on.

I remember when me and my cousin put on his Cooleeze full IC kit it was a damn struggle to get the couplers to go over the pipes, but that was probably because of the lip he welded on to them ;). And when it was fully installed, man was it a rigid setup!

Yes that was also time consuming. I deburred, sanded and smoothed every cut. I'm still sweeping up shavings in the garage.:naughty:

Aspec, lookin' good. Big improvement over stock.

Got any leftover pipes from that kit by chance?

Also, be very careful using the those couplers especially on the hot side. Let me be the first to say they're pieces of shit. Make sure you bead all the ends of those pipes too. I had one blow completely off and then I ran it over:cry:

I will be using the leftovers on my son's 85 mkII p-type to make up a nice cold air intake.

I used only one coupler on hot side that came with the kit. The two pipes it is connecting are butt together and the t-bolt clamps are pretty close together so "ballooning" if any should be minimal. But a definate thumps up on the heads up, thank you. The other two connectors are 4 ply, nice and sturdy.

Lookin good Aspec! Much improved. I like the potentiometer on the old coolant temp sensor. Good job hooking it back up this time around ;)

Wow, maybe try a little better camera and a little less resolution. Not all of us are running monitors with 2000x1900 native screen resolutions.

I was wondering when somebody was going to call me out on the rheostat.:biglaugh:

That was a little experiment with the cold start injector timer. At the time the timer was toast and I was not about to go spend the $150.00 or so that toyota wanted for a new switch. Rheostat at radio shack $1.79. Setting the resistance to make the cold start injector come on when I want... Priceless.:naughty:

Ah, well as long as you weren't trying to get more power by tricking the computer into thinking the coolant temp was different, then kudos goes to you for using your brain to fix a problem for cheap, and best of all: TEMPORARILY!!! lol
