Fan Shroud needed?

The douche that did my engine swap broke my shroud and put the 1/2 broken one on and it was dangling around almost hitting my fan.. not to mention he put on a fan with a broken blade... sigh.. :3d_frown:

+1....unless it's the PWR radiator as I've been hearing issues with the fan hitting the shroud and breaking... though it's being looked into

It's not an issue. At all.

The stock radiator is way more then capable of cooling mildly modded engines. Or, any engine in fact unless you are running it at high output levels for long periods of time.

engine undertray is NOT as important as the fan shroud in my experience...

a brand new stock radiator is ok, but an OLD stock radiator is NOT...

As long as the rest of the cooling system is perfect and the Air Con condensor isn't blocked with 15+years of crap....

perfect on these cars is laughable unless you're the original owner and you ran toyota red coolant since day one like you should and did your coolant flushes.

99% haven't...

Anyone have pictures of the undertray?

In my experience, the UNDERTRAY is a CRITICAL component of the stock cooling system. I am fortunate to have a very clean stock radiator... but you can STILL have heating issues... (although the KOYO comes ANYDAY NOW!!!:naughty: ) ...and with a "high-heat" scenario... I would heat without the tray and NOT with it installed.


(Currently, I have a "partial shroud"... due to past damage. I notice a difference from that as well, and plan to replace the shroud when the KOYO goes in.)


The tray seemed to be a bigger factor at LOWER speeds, or SLOWING DOWN the pace after running hard and hot... didn't channel enough air THROUGH the radiator... just "escapes" under the engine, I believe.
