More like the other way around ;)

It protects the road from the grease and shit in the supra

I for one do not have a fan shroud OR any of the undertray and have been that way for about 2-3 years. i have a fluidyne however.

personally i dont feel the undertray is that big of a deal cooling wise. shroud i could see making a decent difference though. obviously having both would be optimum but i dont think mandatory.

So you say engine undertray is SO important? I believe my car hasn't had an undertray in a decade at least :D

Same here I removed mine just for easy access (had intended to replace it after fixing pwr. streeing) but never got around to putting it back on. That was over 18 mos ago never had ANY issues with temp cooling etc----

With a "better than stock" cooling system, KOYO, FLUIDYNE, etc... perhaps you are not having an "ISSUE", but you are not cooling AS EFFICIENTLY as you could, in my opinion. Air moving INTO the front grille area will take the "path of least resistance"... and that is OUT THE BOTTOM of the opening past the grille if you don't have the under tray. You could potentially be cooling MORE effectively... and with a FMIC, you may ALSO be reducing the efficiency of your IC by diminishing the air being "forced" through it, as opposed to through AND around it...

...I think...

Why WOULDN'T you "maximize" your efficiency... even if it wasn't "NECESSARY"?

(We don't NEED 400+ HP with these cars... they'll still "GO"... but they sure go alot BETTER WITH the extra HP!:biglaugh: )

Hmmmmmm..... someone needs to place temp. sensors in several strategic locations and perform a THERMAL DISIPATION ANALYSIS with the control being values WITH the lower tray... and then WITHOUT it...

(Could also try without the shroud... and without EITHER the shroud or tray, as well... just to see what the differentials would be, ay?)

Well, as for the UNDERTRAY... I've already "done" my real-world study...

...sans sensors.

The car WOULD heat without it... and WOULDN'T heat WITH it.

Good enough for my basis for an opinion... and the "conceptual logic" walks for me, as well.:icon_bigg

(Thank you for your VOTE! heh heh heh...)

(NOTE: I had "other" heating issues at the time... so it may not occur so "noticeably" now... but the principle still applies.)

The undercover creates a low pressure area behind the radiator. The shroud pulls air across the etire core, not just where the fan is.

Hey you don't need two hands either.
