I hear ya Tanya, but the way I look at it I'm not some kid whos gonna go all "sup boyz! ckeck out mah DORIFTO wheelz em kay two" on it. I'll do what I did with my RA21, and my MA70. I will join the community, learn what I can, contribute as an adult, and hopefully give something back to both the car and the community. Not a single car Ive owned since high school has left my hands in worse condition than when I got it (except for a 78 Z28 that I essentially stole from a car dealership and hid for years in the mojave desert :naughty
. So no matter what car I buy will get love and attention until I no longer have use for it, then I will attempt to pass it on to the next person I hope will enjoy it as much as I do.
A year and a half ago when I sold the Celica I had for 14 years, the car that I had through my whole marriage while my wife drove the nice one, only to walk out and leave me with virtually nothing, I decided I was going to do what I loved. That love is working on cars. I sold my perfectly good jeep because I had no particular love for it. I was settling for "just some transportation". Now Im looking to turn that around, if not with this next car maybe the one after it.
All that being said, I still need the car to be a DD for me right now, so Im looking for the best possible starting point within the budget I have. If I had double the budget that black one with the louvers would probably already be in my driveway.
Shit, I have had kind of an emotional week this week for a ton of reasons, none of which are over a car. So Im gonna just take the plunge and get this over with so I can move on to more important things. In the end its a crappy $1500 car and far from the most important decision of the day.
Thanks again for helping me talk this out, hehe
