ive done it, it wasnt a big deal to me.

its not that big a deal,, ,, I just dont want no part of it... plain as that,,,

ok, heres the big deal,, , let me put it in a way of dollars so all you can under stand,,,

, my work wont pay me if I mis a days work at the office ,,,

jury duty pays $ 40 dollars a day,,

pays 46.5 cents a mile
an up to 15 bucs for parking

when I work a days overtime, I make over

$ 540 dollars.....

you do the math,,

would you wanna go to jury duty an make 40 dollars, or over 540 dollars....

Well, will....considering there are 365 days I have in a year to make money, i wont cry over one day to give as a civil duty to the community I live in..for I deem jury duty as important because you and a small group determine the outcome of a major situation.

I dont put money that high on a pedastal to where it clouds good moral judgement.

Some people need every hour they work to pay their bills and make ends meet...

Just tell them you know the defendant, they can't have favoritism in the courts :naughty:

they chose me twice, both times i was a full time student, so i was exempt. if got called now, i'd go- small price to pay in my opinion...

if its that tight then id suppose you have a legitimate reason for being exempted from jury duty. you should ask the judge or whoever next time around.

dont give me the money is tight speech after you gave me the 540 dollars a day speech.

and wtf is morgahe?? u mean mortgage?

maybe im just one of those few people who has money management, so im able to actually give up a day out of the 365 to give service to the community when they call upon me to do so. maybe you will understand it better.

i'm not saying money is that tight, ,, an I manage my money quite well,.,,
, I'm just saying , for those who have all those living expenses an a family,, like their going to want to give up a day at the office an loose out on their daily wage compared to a few cumbs given at jury duty,

money might not buy me happiness, but it sure gives me stability.....

as much as i understand this...i also understand that those people us peak of, need proper money management. Stow away savings for a rough day or days. the emergency vacation day for its proper purpose.
emergency fund, something.

maturity and knowledge buy stability for even the underpaid workers.

now yes, they kinda fuck u with the ten or 40 crap ass dollars...thats no joke right there.
