exhaust question

I understand young people's fascination with turbos, any idiot can add boost till they melt pistons and look like a hero doing it.
But those of us old enough to remember know there's something really nice about a well modded NA engine. The broad power and torque curves, much more user friendly in the real world.
Let's not forget a 7MGE is still a pretty impressive engine- 200hp from a 3 litre six is still respectable.

thanks for all the nfo guys. so if i use the stock header and just replace the cat back part of it the car would run better? where can i find a good catback that bolts to the stock header?

just get a 2.5 inch highflow cat make sure its the honeycomb one, and go to waltz or buckeys or your fav muffler shop and tell them you want them to fit the cat on the car and ahve the exhaust 2.5 inches out to their best performance muffler with a good resonator, and tell them you want the catback as straight as they can make it while making the muffler hang sstock, its possible and its a custom made catback but its better quality results than anything youll find on ebay.,

thats exactly what your trying to remove, two mufflers and a double 90* bend before the muffler, its just really bad design.. it is quiet tho after all...

Now that I can hear my stock exhaust (it had a leak by the cat), I actually like the stock sound. Quiet but nice. Will eventually change it to help it breathe better once the magequirt is installed. Until then, it's all bone stock for me.
