What he said^ and you can only take down the stud humps so much, but even then you'll risk cracks.

All the prices I've seen for an extrude hone job are well in the $500 range plus.. Doesn't seem worth it when you can buy a tubular SS manifold for $200.

i think the point im trying to make is that for someone who already has bolt on parts all around, the $200 for a tubular manifold will end up cost a lot more money. for example.. im running a comp series turbo, have a lipp elbow, rt downpipe, and cooleeze ic pipes. when you take into account how much custom work that needs to be done to make the tubular manifold fit, its not worth it.
what ive been saying for some time now is that either a tubular manifold (not likely) or a log style manifold (like the one for the jz), with better flow characteristics should be made for stock location turbos.
i think there would be a good market for that. people will spend the extra money to avoid the cost and labor or customizing everything

well i vote to port the manifold. i have ported many of them and with the correct tools you can get damn near the whole thing(only part of #6 isnt fully cleaned up).

bang for the buck i am a fan of them.

I finished porting my manifold the other day & compared to doing the 7M cylinder head its MUCH easier.:icon_razz
There are five bumps which need to be reduced a bit, two a lot more than the rest (especially #2 & #6 cylinder) plus minor gasket matching & reshaping/cleaning of ports.
Dont know why they did not weld the bolts to the outside of the manifold.:3d_frown:
I used a Dremel with an extension.

It should since people use the stock 7M-GTE manifold on the 5M... Though I know the 5M header won't work on the 7M because of the location of the distributor...

Reason I asked, HP Freaks has that log header for a 5M, but not a 7M. So it will not work on the 7M-GTE because of the CPS?

If you can find one ;)

It's still a T4 flange and would require an adapter for the CT26...the downpipe length would likely need adjustment as well.

I was thinking of an advertisement for Treadstone performance. But the manifold looks the same. One is made, both sell it would be my guess.

After further review, they don't claim it will support 1000 hp, but you can bolt a turbo to it that will pull 1000. Deception at its finest. And frankly, rather suck ass of them to do it. :nono:

I'm curious about that too...will the 5M exhaust manifold fit on a 7M head?

Yes. Bolt patterns are the same, just like the block.

id be interested in a log mani like the one posted before for the jz

This one looks much better. Like a straight copy of the first HKS manifold. Not a long runner, but still looks nice. I found this while doing the BOSS/GT35R debate with myself. I think it would be a nice combo. But more work than somebody like me is will to do.

I just noticed that manifold has a wastegate flange below the turbo flange. That means it would need to be blocked for a CT26.
