Everyone else was doing it, so I got my own BHG and made a thread about it!

anybody have any input on why the head wont lift off? like it said, its very loose, just wont lift off the block at all.

make sure that you got the hose at the back of the head and the one at the front that goes to the back of the thermostat housing

either just stick a screw driver in the head and block to break that seal, or you need to man up and pull it off. my head on the engine i took out was on there pretty good.

I can man up if thats all it is, I just dont want to damage it. Like I said, It can wiggle really good, so it feels like the seal is broken, imagine a rocking chair that weighs 1500lbs, same effect. I can rock it side to side a fair bit, but up and down it wont budge at all, not a millimeter.

As long as theres nothing I can damage knowing that i have all the headbolts out, ill just man up on it, or get some leverage of some sort.

are you kidding me. i would do that if i wanted to mangle the deck of the head and block. there are two certain areas that it can be done without causing damage. look at the bottem of the link. it can also be done on the opposite side below the therm housing. hopefully you didn't gouge .020 pit in you head. :3d_frown:
