he needs to bring it to one of the texas meets so lots of us can see it...

I on the other hand won't ever sell the car...maybe if it's in a bad enough accident, I'll get a clean shell and start swapping, but there are too many new, high dollar OEM parts on my car now... (see sig)

I've owned my MK3 since May of '98; back in 2003 after a few blown motors and many broken hearts I decided it was time for the car to go. I put it in the Autotrader for $8000 FIRM. Dude came and offered me $7800 cash; I turned him down...he offered $7950 ...I turned him down and said $8000 firm. He wouldn't budge and walked away.

After he drove away reality set it and I was very very scared; I called Autotrader and IMMEDIATELY cancelled the ad. When he called the next day offering what I asked I told him the car is no longer for sale.

I thank GOD everyday for that decision...i will NEVER EVER sell my car..both Supra's are with me for life...and for those that say: "ya ya I heard that before" here's a little story:

One day My X said to me: "it's either me or the supra"...fyi: I still have the Supra!!

He was hoping that I would give in as he walked away and drop it even lower. For me it was the princiiple; the car IMHO was worth more than $8k and even if he offered me $7999.99 i would have said NO. We chatted later a couple months later and he had MAJOR regrets of not buying my car.

In regards to the X I gave the short story so I wouldn't bore you guys. But this is how that conversation went as we were driving one day:

X: "I'm tired of this; it's either me or the supra's...take your choice"
Me: I pull over and put $2 and 1 quarter in her hand
X: "what's this for"
Me: "This bus should take you to the station; call your brother with the quarter and he can pick you up from there"

From that day on she realized not to $#%! with the Supra and actually started loving it...to the point that she would be pissed if it was down for 'maintenance'. Relationship ended years later for an unrelated reasons; but if it came to it I would have ended it there. I'm easy going but NOBODY makes me choose between my Cars and them...they will always loose. If I may rant: people see Supra's or cars as a seperate entity than the owner. But the way I see it my Supra's are an extension of me...Kill my Supra and you Kill me...take my Supra away and you've taken away a big part of me.

Peace!!

haha, cool. and yeah i figured 8k was probably on the low side. with supras it seems they are either worth less than 4k or more than 8k. there is no in between....

I agree, when my car is down, I'm down, when it's running good, I'm usually in a great mood.

People really do identify you by your car, especially as a Supra owner, and I wouldn't have it any other way...

Yup...people at work think I'm nuts and I love it. I have countless Toronto Supra Club T-Shirt's; Golf Shirts and Denim Shift; SupraQuebec Golf Shirt; Toyota Laniard's; 5 different Toronto Supra Club Hats; Toronto Supra Club Windbreaker; 2 different types ofToronto Supra Club Leather Jackets; Fossil Supra Watch...and for the smart ass at work that asks: YES Toronto Supra Club Boxers. And exactly as you said Poodles...I wouldn't have it any other way!!

I think I can confidently say that these Supra's are with me for life as 10years later I am only more passionate about them. For the original poster; if you feel half of what I feel about supra's you're making a HUGE mistake selling...I have $0 right now to get my mk3 running right...so it's in a storage facility...if I can't have it nobody can :).

My boss does everything he can to keep me away from his wife....

No not that. She happens to like MKIII's as much as I usually do and every time I come over and let her take it for a spin he doesn't hear the end of it for weeks. He's threatened to start docking my pay... this last time she told him that he had to wait on buying his next muscle car builder until he gets her a MKIII. :evil2:

I do have to say that this car is a lot like marriage. Just when you're ready to rip her to pieces, pack them in boxes and ship all those little bits across the country the love kicks back in and you feel like an absolute ass and can't believe what you were thinking just an hour ago.

I never thought this thread would take off this much. I think I'm going to definitely do my best to try and keep it (at least for a weekend/summer car) and get a DD/beater or something that will get better gas mileage, and has FWD or AWD.

It's funny how chicks get jealous of the supras, like they're competing with other skanks to get/keep your attention. My wife loved my car when we first started dating, but now she hates it. I even try to get her to drive it so that she'll like it more, but she says "it's too heavy..." Whatever.

I gotta go wash/polish my car when I get home.

Thinking of selling it right now. My insurance company removed my road side assistance policy because of the number of towing bills lately.
