If you thought that yesterday was a big day, these two days are even bigger!!!
I started on the 20/5 pretty early with a friend.
There were only a few things that we needed to fix.
The goal was to drive my supra to "The odd vehicle day" at my summer work.
It's an event for all the employees where we can show each other what we are doing
while we're not at work.
Of course we ran in some big problems.
During the final test start before putting the front on we noticed that my new
oil system wasn't as leak free as I thought
I had a leak at the Permacool thermostat which we tried to fix with tape sealer.
But that only made it worse, turned out it was a crack in the thermostat.
The time was now somewhere between 12 and 2 in the morning so there were no
stores open to find a solution in.
First try: Weld the AN to NPT fittings to the thermostat and weld the crack.
Well, that ended with us sinking a whole phase in the garage *oups*
Second try: Bypass the thermostat.
I welded together two sizes of pipes where one end goes in the SS hose and the other
end goes into a smaller rubber hose.
Four adapters and two hoses and we were back on track.
I pushed through the night while my friend took some naps.
At around 9 AM we drove out of my garage, went home to me to make sure that my supra
was as street legal as possible (no MOT though) and to get some clean clothes.
Then we drove the 60km to the event at my work with the targa off.
I was soooooo happy. The beautiful weather was even more beautiful now that I was driving
MY supra
