Mine isn't bad, would have been nicer to have rollers on it, but it works and it's not like I use it everyday. Got my stuff from O'reilly's (engine stand, hoist, load leveler)

Just a word of experienced advise, make sure the chains are SECURELY attached to the engine, the oil pan leaves a nasty dent in the bumper if the engine comes loose
Lifting the engine isn't the issue, the one ton harbor freight doesn't reach in the front I tried it. When you start to lift the front digs itself into your bumper and will carve out a good 1-3 inches with the weight of the engine. Measure how long your boom is and figure out how long it's needs to be....then buy a bigger lift.

Won't help...I know exactly what his problem is...empera has the same problem but there was 3 of us holding the stand away from the bumper and 2 holding the engine back from hitting the cross member....he NEEDS a bigger lift with a longer boom if he isn't gonna have extra help.
Or get a chain hoist set up in those rafters up top of your garage...that would make life so nice!
I have the exact same one form harbor frieght. It worked just fine with my 1jz. Hoist from the front, and extend the boom all the way, and keep the rear of the car jacked up, while the front is down on the tires...
never had an issue pulling or installing my engines with a harbor freight hoist.
Always go in from the front. Just push the car back install then push forwards. I've done it in a small garage next to a classic mustang (GT350) no probs
1st time no leveler. I use seat belts. It was actually easier with this then the leveler.
My cars too low for the legs to clear the control arms so i actually have to jack up the front of the car. Check harbor freight, i got a1 ton one for 29.99 IIRC

Bumper assy is held on with 2 bolts. fasia is another 4 iirc. Removing them could solve this cheaper than buying a new hoist. May want to remove intercooler as well.
Awesome looks like next time if I don't have a new one I'll be removing the bumper and fascia.
