What transmission mount/engines mounts were you using?

Solid motor, poly tranny.
Hands down there absolutely no point in keeping a r154 at that power level. I haven't found anyone yet that hasn't broken any at 600+ wheel.

How would street driving suck ass? Freeway, eh but you can get 3.5X rear gears if your that concerned.

Does it suck power, technically. But the car is going to be so much faster that it doesn't matter. Endless pull in your power band, no lag between gears etc.

Going with a th350, adapter plate for a340 bellhousing, custom ATI 9'' coverter, transbrake, quicksilver shifter.

Ill get proefi temp sensor, cooler, lines etc etc too. hopefully I wont have issues again.

May go with a 3.58 rear end

What sort of RPM on the stall does he plan on running?
I would think a 4,500~ rpm stall is needed unless he is running spray to get the boost up on the brake.
No OD with 3.5X gears in a street car with a 4k+ rpm stall will cause some pretty bad heating issues
If his engine RPM is below the stall RPM on the freeway he will just be slipping converter
He could swap in NA gears in the rear to pull the RPM higher

Do they make lock up converters for this application?

Sounds like someone is chasing 10's. Do you already have a drivetrain collar and ATI damper etc etc?
9s easily auto. Easy 10s with the 5sp setup now.

who sells the th350 to a340 adapter?
A vendor online, it's not a bolt on occasion. You have to cut the bellhousing off the GM trans and machine it flat. Then the adapter bolts to the front of the pump.

4500 rpm stall is what I would choose as well, cause it won't hit 4500 until under heavy load. Spray would be good if he's going to drag, just to get it up on stall faster.

Tyler hasn't had one bit of Trans temp problems whatsoever. Not even remotely close to getting hot. It usually sits around 140-150 cruising and 180 at the track after a couple passes. With a cooler and a fan. Fans on key power too.

No lock up converters on 350/400/PG.

So have an update.

I'm gonna be giving the built r154 one more go at this thing and see how long it lasts before I tear gears apart...
