I have heard good, and bad things about Eagle rods and I decided to call Eagle themselves to get a guage on the truth. I inquired to the sustainabilty and strenth of their rods and I was told by an Eagle tech that their rods for the 7mgte will handle up to 1600 horse power. Soooooooo...who can refute this tidbit of information with a disclaimer with supporting factual data. I know quite a few 2Jzgte builds that have used them with no problem.

While i doubt they're a "crap" rod (ive used eagles in chevys before without issue), I call complete BS on the 1600hp rating. There have been a few cases of Carillo rods bending/shattering on 2js at around 1500hp. (keep in mind there can be many reasons for a rod failure...so i'm not saying carillos are at their limit at 1500 either...in fact I think Titan has made more than 1500 with carillos)

I would trust a thoroughly inspected set of eagle rods in a 7m to probably around 900whp.....after that its pauters, carillos, crowers, etc. IMO

The only thing I've seen on Eagles is you need to tweak the weights to match them up and check the crank ends for proper bearing clearances (about half needed minor resizing). As far as the metallurgy goes, they appear to be well made and they use quality rod bolts.

all of the aftermarket rods i have seen will support almost anything you can throw at them.
i run crower but seen nothing wrong with even redone stockers(450-500rwhp constant)

you should post the picture of the twisted rod, it looks nassssty.

I'm assuming that the eagle rods are in the middle?

Why.....this is the kind of info I really don't want in this thread. No assumptions allowed. If you have no conclusive evidence to refute the data rendered please do NOT make inconclusive inuendo, and rhetoric based on assumption. You guys must understand that bad information does not help the community at all. So if you really don't have a matter of factual piece of information to add don't give factless assumptions based on hear say.. Hopefully this thread will help us all to look at things that are misrepresented by hear say, and misrepresented fatual data. IE Blackdevilsupra and I were the first 2 to use a gt4088. The rumor was they'd be toooo laggy. Boy were they wrong. Now the whole community is using them because of our success. I was the first to put a 3" IC pipe on a 7m intake when the rumor was it would be laggy and unresponsive. Even when I was using the pipe, and giving factual data of throttle reponse there was still a debate. The rumor that the 7m is a terrible platform for reliable high horse power was first dispelled by Will Kneely, and Lance Wolken. Now we have Duane and Nate really pushing the boundaries. My point is that there are so many misrepresented facts that these myths become truths that hold us back from truely over coming obstacles in front of us.

The eagle rod in the middle does not look shabby to me. They may or may not take 1600 horse power, but the Tech engineer at Eagle says they can. I think unless someone can say that they can't, and support this with factual conclusive data we have to look at them to take at least 1000 horse power in my honest opinion.

Is that a stock Twisted Rod?

I can only say that assuming everything you are told by someone you are buying from as FACT, is just plain wrong. You aren't gonna find a bunch of 1500HP 7M guys in here to support anything factual either good or bad. I think Nate running them in one of the highest HP cars on here would have to be about the best info you're gonna get. I would trust them as much as any other aftermarket rod.

FWIW, a little research shows the Eagles use the same material and procedure (metallurgically speaking) as the Pauters.

I do like the design on the Pauters better than the Eagles. Do I like the Pauters like 3-4x as much (price difference)? No.

But then, I had Bryan ensure the Eagles are 100% identical now, much like the Pauters are from the box.
