Quite a few 7MGTE 5 speed cars trapped 89-90 in the quarter, and that is it. Yet others did 95 (allegedly stock). TRD back in the day did a mild build with the A340E. They claimed 330 hp at 13 psi with exhaust, boost controller, and fuel cut override/enrichment. It went 97 in the quarter. Which is noticably faster than the 88 it did stock. But it still isn't 330 bhp. More like 285 when calculated, which is what HKS claimed those power levels would do.

My mods at the time were full 3" exhaust, MAFT basic in suck-through, and ic with hardpipes.
I think I benefited from a cooler intake charge than stock, and the only thing that the maft helped
with is the ability to mess with afr's, compared to a stock setup.
I don't think anybody needs a 57 trim just to hit 300whp.
I think I could have gotten close if I were able to bump my boost up to 12 psi at the time.

laxboy36;1815354 said:royal purple eats up the trust washer in the turbo. but thats what ive been reading upon on here.

Turbo Habanero;1815325 said:what would you say the wheel horse power is on a car that traps 98-99?
Nick M;1815360 said:Off the top of my head, 210-220. Horsepower is calculated. It requires a certain amount to cover distance and to achieve certain speed in time. Plug in your numbers. A 5 speed car will hit 100 easier than the A340 for obvious reasons.

The DSM guys has an online calculator some time back. Same thing.

its says
Total horsepower and horsepower used? what does it mean by that?
mine seems kinda bad for the mods i had...
total hp 294 BHP
HP used 256 bhp
Best E/T 13.67...not sure what it means by that (assuming that's what i can run?)
