for what it's worth, i have one of the mdc BB 60 trims. i opted to test it for jon, knowing very well that it might not last. that was and is a chance i'm willing to take. ;)

for the time that i was running it (i took the car apart a year and half ago), when you pressed the gas pedal, i swear, all hell broke loose. it was ridiculously fun!

it had a smooth, ridiculously fast powerband right up past 6.5k rpm. stomp the pedal, and you're literally gone. i was running 15psi through it, and i was having an absolute blast.

i'm hoping that it'll keep together, as it was a potent little guy. it spooled faster than my stock turbo, if you can believe that. man, i miss boost. :(

See thats what im saying, it seems like a worthwhite investment in my mind to get a BB turbo... especially because i enjoy more of an autocross style race than a drag race. And im sure a DBB 60trim must have been fun to play with.

Im taking it that they only made them in the 60trim DBB? No dyno on 15psi or anything like that? And no videos im sure?

I got full spool (15PSI) by 3000RPMs on a 62-1 CT that made 350rw/370ftlbs. I don't see you getting too much less lag than that on anything

I think the whole point of modding a ct26 is for inexpensive reliable power. Instead of dropping big money into one, you might as well go with an aftermarket turbo that will be more capable.

Just my .02

no, but for what it's worth, on my stock ct26 i made 289rwhp, 295ft lbs tq on a mustang dyno (said to read low compared to a dynojet)

after the bb ct26, it was a HELL of a lot faster in both acceleration and spool. i got to 80mph like it was going out of style. it just pulls and pulls and pulls.

it felt like: if i wasn't idling, i was boosting. so much fun!

man, i gotta get this car back together. :(

Aaron what in the ct's oil system destroyes the bb's? If the 60-1s were destroying themselves what about a 57 would that hold up any better? Im drooling over shaeffs description of his monster, even if its self destructive one can dream

I have been told it's partly do to the diameter of the shaft, it's too small to handle the stresses of the 60-1 compressor wheel in that small of a housing. I would think the 67-1 would be far worse.

No I meant if you stepped it down from a 60-1 to a 57 trim ct-26 with a double ball bearing setup. Do you think that would hold up better than the 4 60-1s you built? A 67 in a ct is just asking for shrapnel in your motor.

67 = FTL
60 = eh...
57 = FTW!

now we just need to get a vendor crazy enough to try and make these DBB 57trims for crazy ass kids like me.

and what makes it so hard to make the CT-26 a DBB anyways? just getting the right bearings made or what?

Shaeff could you post pictures of your turbo? haha

Apparently my 57-trim CT has a Garrett center section.

Also, is there much power difference between a 57 and a 60 trim? I know that the 57 will be weaker at high RPM's, but at 15psi 4000rpms, would they be about the same?
