Okay so I couldn't get me engine and tranny lined up properly to pull engine and leave trans...so I bolted the engine back to the engine mounts and now I am taking the Trans out by TSRM(Then I'll pull the motor)... I am at the stage of removing the bolts on the driveshaft flange closest to the Trans and I have broken 2 14mm sockets tourqing so hard. Anybody got any suggestions on this one? I don't have powertools...
I guess I could also do it by pulling the motor+trans as one but I still need a way to undo the bolts on the Driveshaft flanges...right? Help is always appreciated :1zhelp:

Are you turbo or N/A?

Id pull the motor and trans at the same time, way easier.
I am turbo and everything is ready to come off. WAIT A MINUTE...I don't have to fuck with the driveshaft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Okay please all knowing supra owners:bowdown: tell me what bolts I have to take off to pull motor+Trans and also kinda how I would angle it out of the engine bay. Much appreciated.

Stupid question, but have you tried PB Blaster or something like it? And yes, it is easier to pull the engine and trans at the same time. And yes, the driveshaft would slide out from the trans. MAKE SURE YOU DRAIN THE TRANS FLUID. Otherwise it will all come out when you lift the engine. But you're going to have problems with the crank and the A/C compressor pulleys hitting the radiator support if you're pulling it with the trans (assuming you took off the fans and radiator, which you should have done already if you're pulling the engine.)

There are the 2 motor mounts, and then under the trans, there should be 4 bolts holding the end of the trans up (put a jack under the tranny so it doesnt come down when you take them off), take those out, then the slave cylinder, and then the speedo cable on the other side of the trans and it'll all come out. It may also be a good idea to take off the shifter itself.

its seasy, i did mine last time in just 2 hours. dont touch your driveshaft when pulling, and pull hte motor and tranny at the same time as the others have said. sounds like your making this a whole hell of alot harder than it is.

To pull the engine, jack up the rear of the car as you pull the engine out.
GODDAMIT I keep going back and forth, good advice Jon1 but, I already have the shifter off, the tranny fliud drained(bought redlineMT). I should _____________ (fill in with, try to pull motor while jacking back of car up -or- pull both at same time(<leaning towards this...))

You have to get that clutch release fork and pressure plate bolts out to seperate if its turbo, its an ass backwards clutch setup for r154, then jack the trans up to get some wiggle room. The pressure plate stays with the trans rather than the engine, unlike any normal car.

You guys should see my mess, I thought it was a valve at first, nope, heads still off but the entire wire harness is pulled off the engine haha. Im yankin this bitch out sat or sun, fixing my bottom end with a bandaid, getting my head reworked I think, throwing it all back together, grabbing my balls and praying it starts.

I need the practice, the woman wants to buy a V6 stang and drop a cobra motor in a year...

Why not just jack up the rear of the car, and then pull the engine...I don't understand what you're asking.
I've heard quite a few times that it's a bitch to align the Trans and engine splines when putting the engine back in. In all reality I don't need to pull the Trans. I"M ASKING which is easier at this point. Jon1...in ur experience the engine slid right off whn you jacked the back of the car up?

Just pull em both, from what Ive seen and heard, trust me, dont fuck with disconnecting them. Id rather line back up the DS than rebolt the tranny any fuckin day.

the 2 tranny bolts at the top of bellhouse behind the head were the biggest bitch I have ever experienced in my life to get off IMO
