Driftmotion T4 manifold and which turbo?

Hey guys. I'm having a hard time deciding between turbos. Right now I have a JT62 Turbonetics bolt-on turbo. My only gripe is that it will only push 19psi (on days less than 80 degrees) and this is limiting my system to 420ish rwhp. It also doesn't hit full boost until 4500rpms. It crosses 16psi right around 3800k rpms.

I would like to get close to 500rwhp on my setup.

I'm leaning toward Driftmotion's 7m T4 manifold and one of their comp turbos. Which should i get for best spool and power close to 500rwhp on 93 octane? the 62/65, 64/65 or the 62/62?

Why not get the driftmotion t4 setup and run a hx40? 60 lbs/min capable turbo so it'll get you to your goal, then some. Unless you'd like to toss out some coin and get one of the PTE6266 turbos.

For 500 rwhp, I'd step up the injectors to the next size though.

Borg Warner's are cheap heavy duty turbos as well.

I would shop around a little. Borg's are very nice and reliable. Precisions are very nice, fast spooling (with the billet wheel) and look so sexy. Holset's are cheap, but very reliable.
Personally I would not go with a comp or a turbonetics as I think they are a bit overpriced, and I hear of them being rebuilt at sooner intervals. I am no turbo expert, so take this as you want.

I just went with a precision 6766, but my goals are higher than yours.
If I were you I would get a precision 6262 or 6266 as they spool decently, and are very capable of 500whp.

Not to hijack but how do you like the 6766? What a/r did you get? I want to do the driftmotion t4 with 50mm wastegate on a 6766 anti-surge s-cover and t4 vband .96 a/r

Well I would love to let you know, but I haven't received it yet lol. It should be shipping out today or tomorrow from Titan. I went with a Tial mvr44 wastegate on the ebay divided manifold(same as DM). I had my buddy cut off the HKS flange and weld on the Tial flange. It should work well.
I got the .81 a/r because I am looking for 700 horse eventually, and want quick spool. Also I am on a stock block and head now, but I plan on building an engine this summer and swapping it in then or this next winter.

Well the hx40 flows roughly 60lbs/min so even if it's not truly accurate, call it 57lbs/min. Roughly 570hp at the crank with the average drivetrain loss, you'll see over 500.

I have an auto, so drivetrain loss if it's 570hp it'll be about 450rwhp. I rechecked the HP threads...nobody is listed there using a Hx40. Does anyone have a dynochart of a hx40 on a 7m with supporting mods?

Another option may be the gt35r or gt40r...any feedback on those?

I hear this about Precision turbos as well.

As have I, but I have heard that their new turbos are much more reliable. Ill have to wait and see how my turbo does I suppose. As I said, don't take my word for it.

Finally found a dyno of a holset hx40 on a 7m. Made 576 at 20lbs of boost. The thread is 7 years old..and he doesn't indicate at all what his mods were. http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/9140/jusbadyno22ig4.jpg

There is not a lot of info out there. I've been searching here and on supraforums for about 2 hours now.

The good news is now I'm finding Holset Hx40's for $280

I believe the HX40 will get you there.. 576 at 20 psi.

MDC says the hx40 flows 70 lbs/min, my guess is that's with the super 40. I'm still pretty sure the hx40 will get you over 500. I'm hoping for the 7 blade hx35 I just bought to get me over 450.
