dr jonez boost controller question

I was having the same problems with my turbo xs mbc. It wouldn't hold my turbo at any pressure consistently. I ordered me a new apexi avcr off of ebay sunday night. I'm hoping it will hold better. I've read that boost controllers aren't really designed to hold boost as much as their for making your turbo spool sooner. I think our wastegate is supposed to keep it from spooling too much. If this is wrong I'm sure someone will let me know. I think I'm having problems with my wastegate and if the new ebc doesn't help then I will take it off and have it worked on. Hopefully it won't come to that............lol

What is your wastegate set at. Mine is supposed to be set at 14 psi, but I hit 18 when I was dynoing............lol

Well...I'm not too sure. It holds 18psi before it dumps...but I actually originally thought it was set at 13-14psi...So I'm not sure, LOL.

It sucks being dumb. I'm usually a very intelligent person. O.K., maybe I shouldn't have said very. I know little or nothing about turbos and it pisses me off that no one near me will work on them that has a reputable shop. They ALL say........"If it has a turbo, we don't work on them!" What a piss ripper? I will get my car running perfect one day in the near future, I promise.



O.K. can I take the "I promise" back? Let's just say I'm pretty sure.............

As you can tell, I wasn't very good at algebra. I passed, but it wasn't pretty.......lol
You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Jspec again.............
