I cant sell this, and its so hard to find a clean supra like this around here. And im already attached. :nono:

Not trying to be funny here, but I'm not sure how you can consider a car that has physical holes from rust as 'clean'? :dunno:

I'd seriously consider a reshell, but considering there isn't anything partiuclarly special there, I'd stick a for sale sign in the window and hope to turn a small project. Unless you're got seriously deep pockets and a lot of time on your hands, Rot can't be 'fixed'.

I come from a land down under
If not repaired correctly the rust will be back in 12>18 months time.

Sorry I can't bring myself to spend time and money on a rusty car, been there done that and learnt my lesson.

If it were me I'd find a shell from a non rust state and ship it there then transfer all the parts from the rusty one.

$1500? I would've bought it too. You got a couple of bad spots but it can be cleaned up.
HOWEVER... you may be able to find a clean body with blown or no engine for the same amount it would cost you to fix that rot

Negative. I would not be able to find another clean body around here. Unless i either payed over 4k or got it shipped from cali, OR waited another year for something like this to pop up in craigslist. So i think i made a good choice. But thanks for the positive words. :icon_razz

Okay so i just finished changing the oil. And i started her up, took a good 5 seconds to start. Then i let her run for like 5 minutes while i was looking around for the loudest ticking, which was coming from the front of the right valve cover. Then i turned her off for a few seconds then started her up again, she started right up. So yeah, its deffinatly the CSI. But my question is if that needs to be replaced, where would be the best place to get an oem replacment? Also where is it located?

no. i have the worst luck. some bitch hit and ran my car last thursday. its pretty bad. what makes it really bad is the car isn't even in my name yet and there isn't any insurance on it. so its all on me. i already have the other quarter panel ready to weld on. its just never ending amount of money and time these cars seems to take. fuck. don't feel alone.

curious as to why you have a canadian car in the states? and with rust like that it must be from the east coast. but don't sweat it man. spend the money and make sure she runs strong then spend the money to make it look good.

I totally just logged in to tell you that car would kick ass if you killed the extra fog lights. So now i feel retarded after realizing you took them off (good job).

And no that is some touch up paint when it was repaired. Its on both sides, more on the drivers side though.

Anybody know how difficult it is to replace the fuel pump in our cars?

open the cover in the floor of the hatch area to reveal the electrical connection, disconnect. Empty the fuel tank (there is a drain plug in the bottom of it), Pull the two fuel lines from the top front of the tank. Pull the plastic cover and loosen the two straps, then pull the pins on the back of the straps and drop the tank. Replace pump and reverse to reinstall.

I have done it a couple times and can drop an empty tank in 15 minutes.

Dammit i was hoping i wouldnt have to do that. I was asking because i may have to replace that so the car starts. But ill replace the cold start injector first.

its not hard, the worst part is actually draining the tank. Can be tough to find enough places to store the fuel if the tank is full.
