Just a quick question - when you said you could rotate the three easily by hand, were you indicating that the other three could not be rotated?

the three that were leaking air seemed to rotate much more easily than the three that didn't.

I retorqued the bolt for the fuel rail located closest to cylander six to 13ft-lbs. wasn't really loose unfortunately

Today after my 12v fuel mod last night i realized the fuel dampener had been spewing fuel :aigo::aigo::aigo: so who knows how long its been doing that under full throttle in the past, so i tightened that up

I did some tuning today, full throttle was fine, part thottle tuning i noticed fuel cut probably due to one of these boost leaks or the combination. Fuel cut happened 3 times, all right around 5100RPM which is kinda wierd. So obviously these leaks are enough to cause me some trouble.

I will be taking apart my BOV sometime in the near future and cleaning it, hopefully it just has some dirt under the seal causing the problem. I guess i will have to replace the insulators as well in the near future....just strange how 3 of them went out at the same time???? when only about 500 miles ago they were fine during a boost test....

The SSQV won't stay open just on idle vacuum alone. There is a small restrictor inside the unit that will actually equalize the vacuum pressure cross the diaphragm over time. This means that once the idle has stabilized to a consistant vacuum, the SSQV will equalize the pressure across the diaphram, allowing the spring pressure to the the only thing acting on the valve itself. If you're leaking at idle, like was said, it's a problem with the valve seating, not the vacuum.

I don't know for sure if its leaking at an idle, i don't really know how to test for that, i said its possible its related to my high idle because it might be leaking at an idle, but it might not be too.

You seem to know quite a bit about these. Have you ever taken one apart?

Quite a few times. I know every little piece that's inside of these things.
So, all three pieces? ;)

Just pressure test your IC pipe where the BOV is mounted. Seal off both ends, put a tire valve in one of the caps, and use a bicycle pump to add pressure. Listen at the BOV for a leak.

four! The spring, the diaphragm, and the valve, which is actually two pieces!

oh its definately leaking, feel quite a bit of air coming from the front of it (opposite side of where the vacuum nipple is)

DONT use gas go get some silicon lubricant meant for o-rings. I had the same problem a month or so ago and used the silicon liberally and no issues what so ever installing them. I know why mine went out, they were installed hastily(my fault) and not lubricated at all.

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64068&page=2 This is my thread I started when i was having some boost only related issues read through the second page about half way down.............

i've installed a lot of fuel injector o-rings and insulators... with NO form of lube what so ever. I've never had one rip on me... much less cause a boost leak. I might this time, but i doubt it, i want it to create a seal and using lube to me defeats the purpose. just take your time and go slow.

and DONT tune a car with boost leaks. your just wasting your time. ask me how i know....

well new insulators are in...

i DID use gas cause i didn't read this in time to know about the silicon thing. I don't have a compressor so i can't check if its fixed for sure yet...
