hey guys, been a while since ive been on here, got a mystery on my hands, i have almost finished my ma-70 turbo restore, and now...im noticing after i drive home from work, (if i uncover the baby to drive it) when im letting it idle down, i hear a rattling noise,
now, i was told at one point it may be the "waste gate" actuater, well, i checked that, nothing bad or loose, recently i had that side of the motor undone to clean and polish for a show, and i noticed something....i could grab the intake side of the turbo...and WIGGLE IT!!!! nothing major, but the compressor housing was moving sepratly from the exhaust housing!
so again i was told to look at the turbo, and see if there was a clamp between the 2 housings, i cant see anything i would consider a "clamp" there are no oil or water leaks, no boost leaks that i am aware of, what can i do to diagnose this problem b4 i have a turbine shot through my hood and into orbit....
thanks :1zhelp:
