Yeah he is...just below supersonic too. I wonder how they kept the path over the water clear...considering he's below the tops of all the sail boat masts ;)

Harbor patrol was herding boats out of the way. Damned daring stuff and very freakin' cool.

Yeah it is. I was playing agressor at the Nellis range during a Red Flag years ago and tried to intercept an F-111 doing mach 2 at 100'. The guy was leaving a dust "rooster tail" almost a 1/2 a mile long. Discovered something...couldn't catch an airplane going that fast that low to the ground. ;)

Gotta love the Blue Angels. Some of the best pilots in the world. I've seen them a couple of times at air shows. You know that they are good when they come to an AFB and the Thunderbirds aren't even there.

Even though I'm in the Air Force and support the Thunderbirds, the Blue Angels are wayyy better hands down.

Will, have you seen the Blue Angels before? If not, try to...They are amazing.

I'm damned impressed with the guy holding the camera. It can't be easy to shoot something going that fast and you only get one pass.

Don't feel bad. I can't think of an aircraft that is as stable as a F-111 at those speeds, at that altitude. Basically, if you couldn't catch him, it wasn't your fault at all.
