i realized my coolant resivour was full and overflowing, so i figured a blew a headgasket. i took the car to school to do a compression test to make sure it was a headgasket and i got 150-160 across the board. alright, thats good..but why is my tank overflowing. then i started thinking. well, i have my heater core valve thing bypassed..and the plastic coupler i had coupling the 2 coolant hoses together burst exploded crushed last thursday, easy fix..removed what it thought was all the pieces of the coupler..i dunno...so my thought is maybe a piece of that plastic coupler went through the coolant line and is lodged somewhere creating higher pressure. Am i thinking clearly?

Now, after we reassembled after the compression test, we realized it was misfiring. We checked everything over many times, but couldnt get it to run right. i looked the plug order on the alldata just to make sure, and it told me that the one the last coil...i had 2 and 5 reversed...thing is..i have it marked like that, and thats how its been running. flipping it made little difference. what can be wrong here any ideas?

Compression tests lie.

Do a leak down tests with the radiator cap off, and the over flow tube plugged with the radiator full to the brim.

If the fluid starts comming out of the radiator, its a BHG.

Just as Jon Stated, do a leak down test. Compresson tests are not very accurate all the time. (example, I did a compresson test on motor about a month ago and it showed great compression, yet with a leak down, we found that it did have a burnt exhaust valve and seat on the #4 cylinder). You have to have a pretty major leak for it to show up on a compression test.

About the #2 & 5 wire, id doesn't make a differance. You can flip flop wires one the same coil just not from one coil to another. It is a waste spark system and fires both plugs at the same time, just one is on compression stroke and one is on exhaust stroke. Dont worry about what the book shows vs. what you had. As long as the same two wires are on the same coil, thats all that matters.

Alright, ill do the leakdown.
as for the the ignition system, does this mean i could have 2 cylinders misfiring? cuz them that would tell me to check the wiring goin to it beacuse i thought they were iffy.

i don't know anything about the ignition, but if the leakdown test doesn't show anything, your rad may just be clogged up. My rad was clogged full of shit and my catch can would flood on the interstate. $50 and a cleaned out rad later, no problems with cooling system.

It only takes a small percentage of coolant in your cylinders to say bye bye to your bearings. Which could cause you to blow your motor, and start off as a misfire. It doesn't really matter if your engine is misfiring if you have a BHG, you're gonna have to rip it apart anyway. Leakdown test it.

Yes you could have a faulty ignition. The coil pack is a waste fire system, and they fire in pairs. So if you have a circuit problem, two cylinders will be down.

This ins't common though.
