id boost the e30. i might just be me but i have basterdizing cars like that. Why not megasquirt and a small turbo the stock 2.5? you really dont have to go to the 325i
head.

you wouldnt need to go megasquirt, theres alot of info in running aftermarket chips. like the WarChip, turner, and a few others. bmw boost have been tested a bunch of times on BF.c but it all depends on how people want spend there money in the end.

Welcome! :)

Often times on the M3 forums, you'll catch people saying that we didn't get the real M motors. While that may be "true," many enthusiasts in the US wouldn't have been able to afford them. At first the e36 M3 wasn't even going to come stateside.

Thanks for the advice ya'll, unfortunately a recent death in the family causing me to leave the us for a tad bit will be putting a hold on this project. :(

From the factory the m20s in the 325e came with a 2.7 with an economy tunned head that doesn't flow too well. With the 325I head on the 325e bottom end. I'll have a stroked m20 with lower compression then a factory 325, (due to the pistons in the 325e) which is really ideal for a boosted motor as we all know.

I think with the recent changes in budget especially I may be going that route since I have all the parts to do so. None the less I will update this thread once I start receiving parts of any make or model once they start coming in lol.

The goal is 350WHP in my e30.

Thanks te72,

I'm starting to lean more towards keeping it m20 & boosting. They have a plug and play meggasquirt ECU for my harness. That's pretty affordable, also the map ecu 2 is another option for this car as well to eliminate the afm and tune both Fuel and spark.

I just saw this,
p1695686_1.jpg

This car is from Sweden.

Made 647whp and 790wnn
Oringed, and z45 + springs
milled pistons cr about 8.2.
GT42
VEMS ecu.
2.5
stock rods

I think with the 2.7 with the I head, MHG, and a gt35r should make this car very fun. Also the m20 motors are basically disposable being that go for any where from $100-$400. They are basically the 7m of the e30 world.

Sorry to hear, Dan.

Check out user good & tight on bimmerforums.com in the FI (forced induction) section. He built pretty sweet tubular manifolds for the e30 cars and made some pretty silly power with Holset turbos. He's also a really cool guy.
