update: I plead not guilty, got a new court date for sep. 11th, and just about jumped the guy in the honda that got me this ticket to begin withwhenmunkysfly said:

Any person or persons who wilfully compare or contest relative speeds by operation of one or more motor vehicles shall be guilty of racing, which shall constitute reckless driving under RCW 46.61.500, whether or not such speed is in excess of the maximum speed prescribed by law: PROVIDED HOWEVER, That any comparison or contest of the accuracy with which motor vehicles may be operated in terms of relative speeds not in excess of the posted maximum speed does not constitute racing.

The prosecutor will have to prove that you were racing in a "reckless" manner. As noted above, speeding up not does necessary mean racing. I also agree with that you don't need a lawyer. I'm not sure if WA judges are very liberal. Just don't make him/her not like you - be honest. GL

I think its easy to see that i wasn't racing when he is already at the next light by the time i cross the first intersection(he jumped the light too), but it seams I am going to be looking for a little pick up truck I think that should keep me from getting tickets *crosses fingers*
edit: that by no means means that I'm getting rid of the mk4 or the mk3. also someone asked what car it was in...it was the mk3 which is red which ='s fast i guess lol
also for thoughs interested the mk4 is almost done with her AEM ecu, 4in dp, and turbonetics PTK850 install. got her on the dyno tonight for a while to tune but she still have some bugs to work out. I'm hopeing to take her down to SILV this year.
