I think you really need an open minded owner that has run various types of coil overs to really get a solid opinion to work off of. Most people will just claim they love what they have just because they have them. Like me, I have Stance coil overs....spring rate is 12k front and 10k rears and they feel good, not too harsh and has great adjust ability. Not ever owning other types I cant chime in on how they compare to others.

there is a suspension forum for these types of questions, and it just so happens that there are a couple threads with this exact question.

What coilovers you choose will depend on how much you can spend and what you use the car for. Answer those questions and I can better assist you.

check out the megans and ksports... they are pretty much the same and are affordable to the average mk3 owner. not to mention it will be a very noticeable difference from your last setup

I've ran TIEN SS's and I'm running TIEN HAs right now. TIEN HAs are more comfortable, TIEN SS's are stiff as fuck and handle like the car is on rails, the HAs do to but they are more expensive.

Only got the fronts on so far. Currently; I like them better than my old RSR [Race spring] with Koni Adjustables setup.

nex coilovers are probably worse than megan

SS's are cheap, that's why they felt stiff as fuck

HA's are actually a pretty good setup...you gotta pay to play

So far theyre really nice.. And you should research a lil bit... http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2837988

Not to mention, theres a few Lexus, and EVO forums that speak highly of them.

I honestly spent hours deciding if I should get them or not, in fear of getting a paperweight. But im glad I bought them now. They allow me to go super slammed [which I did the first time i put them on.. then readjusted].. or a nice perfect height for my tire/wheel combo.

+1, Even better yet if you can drive several different setups, but thats not to likely.

I went with the Megan Track Serieshttp://www.raceinspired.com/ps-9978-37-megan-racing-coilover-damper-kit-track-series-toyota-supra-1986-1992.aspx

Of course...I love them, but its all I've used.

Anyone know how to adjust the camber???

the fact that you linked me to vwvortex proves my point...but i will go further

in that post I found statements like this

"probably made by the same people that make the entire line of Megan Racing Coilovers" - i have already stated that megan's are crap. I have seen their shock dyno plots first hand. I would be surprised if you could tell me one "feature" of the megan coilovers (or nex) that makes it "good" besides "they can go low and they are cheap"

"I have been doing my own research about the company...manufactured somewhere in east asia like taiwan, china, vietnam" - sssooo he hasn't done much research...that's a pretty large area.

"1. The Nex Coilovers have a very ruff ride like all other coilovers." - all other SHIT coilovers have a rough ride. a setup where the dampers are tuned to the spring rate, motion ratio of the suspension, and weight distribution of the car, will not have an overly harsh ride. I have ridden on Megan coilovers and my own pair of custom made TIP coilovers...and everything in between. Not just on the street, but also the track.

"2. You can go low. I went all the way down on the front and the rear. even took one of the spacers out the back on the coil to go lower.
3.They fit right into the old suspention place.
4.They are cheap as hell.
5.You can go up and down!
6.The ride is decent alittle bouncy but other then that they are coilovers "

let's get this straight...they fit were they are suppose to and that's a pro? you can go low? so can any good kit...you can go up and down?, sounds like a quality review. And like he said...they are cheap as hell. you get what you pay for.

lexus owners are generally not into performance...A LOT of evo owners are teenage idiots

If all you want is to be low (which I have seen one car on this forum that is "low") and have a stiff ride so you can think your. in a race car...than these are for you

I hate to rain on your parade, but before you tell me to do some research, how about you do some yourself.

I have been trolling this forum for a while now, not posting much because generally I can come off as an ass. However, as I learn more about the mkiii I really enjoy it, and want to create a much more knowledgeable community.

if you want to see low, please exam this (i will be posting my build thread in a week or so when she's "done"

there are bolts with cam washers on the lower a-arms that adjust the camber. They don't offer too much adjustment unfortunately

Ahhh of course, thanks man. I'm not to low so I don't have much of an issue, just dont want to ruin my new rubber cause of it.

a. i realize this is a shock to you as everyone on here is driving around at 4x4 height

b. wait till it's done and properly fitted...give it a week (maybe two)

Nah, its just a little to low for me, I like seeing most the tire. Plus potholes, speed bumps, ect It happens:nono:

Good work, need to see some finished pics.

Whenever I get coilovers I will likely go with the Bilstein/Hypercoils setup like what 935motorsports is selling.

Mostly because
1. You can choose spring rates
2. They aren't super cheap..as in made in asia somewhere
3. They can be sent out and rebuilt or revalved and parts for them are easy to come by in case you blow or break one since Bilstein is in the US.

Only thing I wish they had with them were a upper pillow ball mount like the k sports..Or just some new upper mounts.

i thought SS were more expensive...arent HA's the basic ones from tein, last time i checked HA were 900 shipped and SS were 1100 shipped on ebay, if they do the same thing i might as well get the HA's...i dont wont my car to be super stiff anyways
