Brings new meaning to the old Kirby vacuums.

They should name it Kurby.

Odd they would spell Kurby different when naming the car?????:icon_razz

Funny how all these pictures kinda tell a story about what a great time we all had???

p720572_1.jpg

Take this photo that Steve N took for example??? If you look close Boost Lee askes Buckshot if he is ever going to finish his never ending build. So Dave gets all mad and starts to cry like the little Vanilla Milkshake drinking girl he is. So I am just standing there thinking wow Dave you have some serious issues. Poor Jay was so scared he wouldnt even get out of his car, And Nelson just tried to ignore the whole thing??? Makes me wonder if his mother really loved him as a child???? :icon_bigg

Seriously this is a great picture from Friday night out at the race track. Funny story is it took Dave, Jay and I three hours to find the stupid track. I think at one point I saw a road sign Saying we were 27 miles from Milwaukee, for real!!! Try being stuck in a car with Dave and Jay for 3 hours. :biglaugh: Lucky for them they had me to keep them company.....:p

yeah we missed a turn so had to take a loop around on a different interstate that was nothing but traffic. actually, it was all traffic no matter where you were. 5pm friday traffic for you. didnt see you guys get off so dont know how lost you were.
27 miles is right tho, thats about how far the track is from there. you just felt lost because it took 3hrs to make a 1hr trip.

i had a thought about making lunch in kenosha, wi area. its only about 7-10 miles from the track. 99% of the people at the lunch in chicago were at the track. so why not make lunch up there? if we were to meet in the general area at like say 1pm or so, then head over to the track around 5pm when they open. traffic would be much less during the afternoon to get to kenosha area, there are several pretty decent places to eat there, and very little traffic from kenosha to the track. sure, there would be about 4hrs between meet time and the track opening, but id much rather hang out in the a/c sipping some tea shooting the crap vs sitting in traffic for 3hrs.

its just a thought.

Funny you should post a pic at the track, and talk about the great time we had this weekend. I was pretty disappointed at the track, even tho I did have a good time hanging with other Supra members. There were 16-17 Supras at the track, and only 3 of them even dared to go down the track. To make it worse, 2 of those 3 cars broke on that track. It was far from the image I had in my mind about these big meets and the track.

It was a GREAT weekend regaurdless! I made several what I consider good friends at this meet.

Actually, Boost was asking Jay and I why we didn't leave you in Milwaukee like we planned.

Why are your hands in your pockets in every pic?

You guys crack me up!!! I need to hang out here @ Supramania more often!

That would not be anything like our Good Ol Southern Sweet tea. You just made Ryan go pull open his fridge and cry like a little girl (yet again), because his 2 gallons of SWEET tea are already almost gone.

Good point. That's what we did for CHI2K5. We had lunch at the Brat Stop which is only a 15 minute drive to the track. It worked out great! After lunch we took the back roads to the track and there was no traffic at all. It was about a 15-20 car cruise up there. I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time if we are going to Great Lakes Dragway next year! Keep the suggestions coming.

I agree, Scott! I'm glad you made it home ok. I was disappointed at the track as well. It seems like every other year is the year for drag racing. There were a ton of cars racing during CHI2K7!

Nelson, we saw you turn in. We were on the upper road, and then we went around a huge farm block, and got there 20 mins. later.

Turn in where? I'm confused...20 min later?

My arms are large, and sometimes I feel like they simply dangle...so they somehow end up in my, *heh em*, pockets. :icon_bigg

That, and I was actually walking around each car and stealing some good luck wishes to put onto my car so that maybe it will get finished sometime soon!!!! :biglaugh:

Good time, guys... Good times.

yeah you dont know how bad i wanted to race. but the car hasnt been together long and i havent had it past 4k rpm or more than 20 miles from my house. so i thought it best to have some test and tune closer to home first.

it does seem like last year there were a lot more supras racing. even sp car only made one pass that i saw. hopefully next year there will be more participation.

only other comment i can make is the car show. elmhurst seems to be a good place to have it, and was better this year than last. my only complaint is the classes, as ive made mention before. why are all the supras grouped together? for a mkii or mkiii to have a chance it would have to be some v-12 quad turbo sensation to have a chance at 3rd place. it kinda reminds me of boxing where the underdog has to knock out the champ to score a draw. its just kind of frustrating of so many nice non mkiv supras at the show and not have a chance of winning. esp for the $20 entry fee. i know this is an elmhurst thing, but i was blown off when i made mention of it. i may or may not attend the car show next year, but if i do i seriously doubt id enter my car.

I totally agree with you. As I've posted just minutes before in the other thread:

I agree with all your points about the Elmhurst Toyota Show-n-Shine. Everything show-n-shine related was done by Elmhurst Toyota (CHI2K7 did not run the show-n-shine). I will be meeting with the officials and try to have different classes for each generation of Supra for next year so that it's more fair for everyone. It was a suprise to me when I found out that the SP car was entered into the car show and won 2 trophies.

ah, didnt see the other thread.

im happy to hear its being addressed, or at the least talked about.

i think the chicago meet is great, and has the potential of being even better. i know it isnt the huge meet and sponsors that vegas is, but why couldnt it be in years to come?

already looking forward to chi2k8! well, aside from the traffic haha.

When your trailer was turning into the Track, we were zooming by on the highway that was above the little access road. We exited, and went the other way.
I wish someone could post a mapquest map link showing exactly where we were (lunch, track, dyno. etc.)
I wish my car was there.

Oh you're talking about SP's enclosed trailer. I was already at the track racing at that time. I did 2 back to back passes and was disappointed. I did 13.967@110.90 w/2.517 (60ft) for my first pass, and then did 13.805@110.91 w/2.417 (60ft). Can you say drag radials?!? I decided to call it quits due to my terrible street tires.
