Now i just have the line run down into the fenderwell, never smell gas fumes and my tank always has positive pressure. If i ever take the cap off it has a huge pressure release.I dont see how gasoline vapors will harm the atmosphere..We probably release more fumes into the air just pumping gas into our cars everyday than comes out of the tank when running the car not to mention the oil refineries releasing these fumes as well.
Also our 19+ year old turbo charged cars are not the opitemy of "clean burning vehicles." Now i can see that not running a cateyltic convertor is bad for the atmosphere, just geez, how many big diesel trucks are on the road with no cats, trains buring diesel, millions of passenger jets flying around running fuel thats equivalent to kerosene/diesel. Something tells me some gasoline fumes from a few hundred cars arent going effect much.
But one day i might install the small Honda EVAP can into the Supra.

1. Its purpose is to store and burn evaporated fuel. Hey, any fuel that I burn instead of allowing to evaporate is a good thing in my books.
2. Raw gas smell = fail. The smell of raw gas around an engine is (to me) a sign of something wrong, or at least poorly maintained.

Don't get me started on diesels, or jet engines, do some research first...

Other cat end goes though a poppet valve into an inertial trap and then to a fomblin filled rotary vane with blower. Capacitance manometers at either end with several ratioing MFCs feeding the thing. If I told you the gases I'd have to kill you but it was a bitch to tune. Process developed by pre and post weighing of the cat. Until we got the chemistry right they were gaining 50 grams per run.
