Well I put a new MC on when I did the swap, but I used synthetic brake fluid. I think the brake fluid was the culprit.

Been a while since I updated, but here we go:

Pulled the tranny, and yup, the slave cylinder blew.

I talked to Summit, they shipped me a new unit. I installed it and then had a "pop" sound and feeling in the pedal when I let the clutch pedal out. I felt pretty bad but I took it for a cruise, the pop eventually went away when the car was running but then a scraping sound started when I had the car in neutral. Sounded like the slave cylinder was not disengaging the pressure plate. Let it sit for a few days and when I was ready to pull the tranny again the pop went away and the scraping sound went away as well. So far I'm up to around 2,600 miles on this swap and occasionally I will get the "pop" sound and feeling when the car is not running, so I'm not exactly sure whats different between before and now.

Loomed up my electric fan control harness:

And once again finilized my engine bay harness with a nice dab of solder on each connection, then loomed it up:

Well its been a while now, I have been enjoying the 1UZ-FE A LOT!!! I have over 7500 miles on my set up as of now, people around here seem to like it a lot as well. Recently I went to a wedding up in State Collage, PA, witch is over a 3 hour drive from where I live. I took a bet and won! The 1UZ Supra made it there, drove around up there, and made it back with no issues, needless to say I'm quite happy. As for the manual steering rack, I can say it still needs revision, but is great, and is holding up quite well. Here are a few photos from my journey and of the Supra, in no particular order:

Thanks, I'm enjoying it! :)

On a update note, here soon, I will be pulling the engine and replacing it with another, from day one the current engine has had somthing wrong with it, but I kept positive to see maybe it just needed to be run, but now its condition is degrading. More to come...

Pulled the stock shifter out and was amazed how clean my top plate was still since I did the engine swap...

This is the fist test fit, before I put the other rubber boots on:

So far I'm loving it, I have about 100 miles on it. Compared to my last shifter, its like a 105 degree summer day vs a 5 degree winter day, and I'm loving the tight feeling it has, I have this pared with the BillyM W58 shifter bushing and relatively new Toyota shifter bushings.

Took a day off to go to Carlisle PA for the swap meet, and found a couple of neat shift knobs. I also got my new brake booster for when I pull the engine, this one is for a 86 Toyota Truck. Hopefully this will work out.

Shit, I think there's at least 4 whites for the MKIII

Looks good though, I want a 1uz, but I don't have the knowledge/funds/tools..

Yea, when you go to buy a "white" body panel you say, ohh yea, that will work its the same...

Thanks, I believe the 1UZ is a great platform for power, it is just the cost that will kill most builds for power.

Hey yall! Started working on my spare engine, so far I got the new timing belt kit on, cleaned up the cam covers, painted them, pulled the horribly oil covered oil pan, and re sealed it. Got some cruddy cell phone photos as my camera is MIA... enjoy!

I like the wheels, kind of remind me of the old Crager? SS wheels from early on. What size are they & what tires are you planning on using?

They must look very similar to the Crager wheels, I have had a few people ask if they were. I got them from americanmuscle.com, the quality seems to be quite good. They had amazing shipping times, only took 3 days to get all four here. They are 17x8 -30 offset. Not sure on tire size yet, I still have to do some homework to figure out the best combo.

They are 17x8 with -30 offset, I think they fit like a glove.

Thanks for the replies!

You're lucky I was in my storage unit tonight and knew you didn't steal those from me... LOL jk

I picked up the exact same rims a couple months back for my new chassis, silver polished lip and gun metal center spokes. I traded a used 2jzge block for them. They're originally mustang style rims, but I plan on repainting the center caps with the mkiii outline logo. They remind me of the Torq Thrust style rims from American Racing: http://www.google.com/images?q=torq...&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1680&bih=857

IMHO, some of the best looking rims for a mkiii supra when done just right. Good luck, can't wait to see it rolling with them on!
