Me and Louis put in a lot of hours this weekend. We stopped and saw justin on our way through spokane and attemped to sort out his maft pro issues.(well Luis did, I watched and wondered why his car sounds like a Subaru :greddy
We didnt get started untill five or six on friday and had our work cut out for us.
Finished up the wiring and put the plugs, coilpack, and wires on
Put the upper intake back on and hooked up the vacumelines and remaining sensors. We also had to swap another connection that differed between the 88 motor and 89 harness and had to reattach another that we pulled off in the process of putting the intake on. Luckily I had a spair with 8in of lead.
Swaped the boss for the superior ct26 :sarcasm:
Put the MKIV mounts on
Got the flywheel on, locktited and torqued.
All that took quite a while due to the fact I had all these parts bagged and boxed up, so it took some digging. It doesnt look like all that much work from the pics but thats in part because we were so busy I forgot to take very many pictures. By this time it was about 2 in the morning and then we hit our major road block. After putting the flywheel on I realized this motor was an auto, why I didnt realize this would be a problem when we were taking off the kick down linkage I dont know but the crank had no imput shaft nose bearing!
So we did what we could that night in the engine bay, putting the cuise an misc sensors in and called it quits around 3:15.
Not bad exept I had to get up at 4 to go to work. So I slept for 45 min when to work, got off around 9 and picked up the bearing and some vac line. We got back to work around 11 put the clutch, tranny ect on. Motor tipped the lift almost killing luis you know the usuall.
lone and behold by the end of the day
ITs IN!
Got all the wiring, fuel lines, driveshaft, ect hooked back up. This went pretty smooth other than having to swap alternators because the studs were different sizes.
I opted to stick with the stock oil system for now as I dont have all the lines for my full flow/ relocation kit. Ill get it all figured out an put it in when I swap motors again in a few months. I am using a better cooler than stock though.
Picked up a spair pan and some fresh injectors from just for a great price thanks buddy.
So all thats left now is to mount the oil cooler and run lines, hook up the ps resivor and finish fabricating the intercoolerpipes. I am hoping I can finish all of these things up the weekend of the 19th. So it looks like shes GOING TO CENTRAILIA!!!
Thanks again luis for all your help, you saved my ass this weekend
