I was wondering which would be a better idea, as I want an exhaust that is larger than most catalytic converters offered. I have not found a cat for a 3.5" exhaust, but wished to use at least one. The plans as of now involve either running a 3.5" downpipe to a 3.5" in dual 2.5" out with dual stock turbo cats, with the pipes exiting in the stock area, or running a 3.5" downpipe to a 3.5" diesel catalytic converter to the same 3.5" in and dual 2.5" exit to the stock location. The upsides to the dual 2.5" is that exhaust would be quieter, off the ground more and potentially release less emissions, but the downside that I can see is more fabrication and a higher cost of materials (due to the quantity). Will a diesel catalytic converter work on a gas engine, meaning will it reduce the same amount of chemicals or will it do nothing but cost more? Thoughts on the setup would be much appreciated.
BTW, I do know that I do not need a 3.5" exhaust at this point, I am setting it in place later down the road, seing how I need to remake my current one when I go single (hangs too low and has some crazy bends).
