sorry bus false alarm. Main head at via said that the polyurethan s/c doesn't "sit still" it shrinks inside the mold. So that might be out of the question next up for sure is the hatch. Like before I need 15 people to start. So anyone in?

basicaly it needs to be solid for the mold to work. The rubbery part on the pre 89 will shrink of move in the mold and won't come out right. I'm trying to see if the 89+ will work since there is a lot more plastic. But they are willing to make the hatch.

I don't care what is or is not made, but if it doesn't have the same fit & finish as stock or better, I don't want it. I want to see some samples before I commit

This... I don't want to commit and pay for a product and get a shitty part in return.

You have to think about what that CF cost. It is NOT cheep. I also would not want thin flimsy parts that would crack or shatter if they got bumped or flexed a bit. I would expect them to cost in the $1000+ range

Just a thought. Get some 89+ mouldings, remove the rubber strip, fill in the gap, sand off all the raised edges, and sand it smooth and flat like the 87-88, use that for your mockup. The best part is they would look good on 87-92.

Yep my car is an 86.5 ;)
(I think they look better anyway)

LOL, what EVA... You don't REALLY think that and you know it. :evil2:

Let's see where this thread ends up. lol

The hatch is a waste of time IMO. To do it right and make a really good quality part, it will not be cheap. People are not willing to fork out the $$, ask me how I know. :) That, and the fact that the weight lies in the glass and not the hatch.

has anyone gotten parts from vis? I've not herd bad things from them. They're hoods look hella nice

Vis have both good and bad parts.

A good quality hood would have a rolled edged, (like I made) and then have a proper latch, not something that was bent with a vice. :3d_frown: Most hoods I've seen look like the described .
