Why are there tan seats in that car? The seats have been re-done, and tan against shadow grey looks weird. The door panels inserts and center console are still black leather, kinda half assed in my opinion. I think if that car was a 5spd with a clean and proper preforated black leather seats, that car would have been sold in a week.

Did they fish it out of that lake?

Go check...its in Sacramento...
But that car Is clean ..I mean really clean. Too bad the salvage title - due to an accident as he stated- ( which was repaired professionally) will not fetch the 9000 price.

Its worth 1/2 of it still though.

hello, it's a 92, last year and very rare, need I say more?

ok, how about the fact that it's clean as hell?

or maybe it was abandoned at a storage place, it's sold off without a title, you end up with a salvage title from that as well, doens't mean it's been in an accident...

do a carfax on it and see what comes up...

nice car and it's in great shape but i would neaver pay 9 grand for a almost 20 year old car when i could get one for 1,500 bucks with a 5 speed turbo and still have7,500 to put in to it.cool find tho

First off, even if you did put the whole $7500 in it, you still wouldn't come close to getting a $1500 beater to run and look like a 48k mile car. It's not even (sanely) debatable.

You are dreaming if you think so.

Some of you guys are cheaper then shit!

I can only conclude that anyone who thinks they can restore a $1500 car for $7500, (even if you do the work yourself) is delusional or hasn't bought any parts lately. That's just complete bullshit.:3d_frown:

.....................As long as it checks out, (with respect to the repair) it's totally worth it.
Without a doubt............that's about as clean of a MKIII as you will ever be able to find now days. There just aren't any more left in prestine condition. If they've been restored, they will go for more than $9,000.

Plus what about the time it takes to do the work. Labor rates added in and the price goes through the roof, surely, time is worth $$$?

that what he meant with "far more than $7500" comment ;)

a QUALITY paint job will run around $5000 by itself. No not the cheap MAACO crap.

I've no doubt that 9 grand is a bit high, but only because of the title. I don't know what kind of costs and hassle are associated with owning a vehicle with a salvage title though... but I've seen lots of US cars go for essentially half price because of a salvage title. What kinds of shit do you have to deal with if you have a salvage title?

The fact that it's a manual does suck, but swapping to a manual trans is still cheaper than paint/body work. Bodywork is wildly expensive, it's easier and faster to pay out the ass for a chassis in good shape than to throw gobs of money at a crappy one to get it presentable.

Depends on the states

Some states is just showing the DMV the car as it sits AFTER being fixed. They look it over, issue a clean title. Done.

Others have to go through inspection and yada yada ya.

If I had that car, I believe I'd actually leave the auto in it and go the way of jdub and IJ. and build it and stomp on any 5 spd out there making the same power as the auto...

A true sunroof is metal on the top, no glass, not covered. It doesn't matter if it pops up and slides out, or slides into the roof of the car. If it's metal instead of glass, it's a sunroof. A sunroof only allows sunlight in a car when it's open. Anything else is a moonroof. Glass? Moonroof. Glass with a sliding cover to block out the sun? Moonroof. Popup, sliding glass top? Moonroof. A glass top that slides into the roof? Moonroof.

Only flaw I can see is the passenger side headlight isnt flush.
You can adjust that cover, there are a few screws to loosen, its no big deal... Also, its missing the lip, clear turn signals and red paint FTL... :(

The car is clean, and even though its red, I'd still buy it for 9K... I dot care if it has a salvage title... You know how many MKIVs are sold every year with slavage titles, and people pay out the ass for them...
