CAN I RUN 12'S ON STREET TIRES?

hey guys i just wanted some input. I run 13.698 @ 101.5 w/ 2.00 60 with a internally stock 7mgte, ct-26 50 trim, full exhaust, intake, and large fmic with 2.25 inch piping @ 10psi on 245/50/16 street tires on mk4 n/a wheels. i am in the process of going ffim with a 1jz intercooler and 2.5 inch piping and turning up the boost to 15psi and tuning with maft basic. i really want to run 12's on street tires do you think it's possible with my upgrades? if needed i can go to a 255/50/16. what do you guys think? (please don't clutter up my thread with "you better go mhg or you won't be running anything" when it blows i'll go mhg)

i was running high 12s on 225 bfgoodrich g force ta. not too crazy about those tires though

you're driving is good enough if the car makes hte power (350+) it should go 12s no problem.

2.0 60' isnt that bad on street tires. 10psi is what's keeping you in the 13's. more boost and tuning will get you there.

I ran a 13.01@107mph, 318whp on street tires. 1.95 sixty foot. I know its not a 12, but with a little more boost I could do it (Stock boost 1jz). More power and you and I will make it.

hmm dosnt that seem a little down on power? with a stock ct i did 13.6 at 10 pounds of boost with a ~2.1 60 foot.

Nate does consistant 14's I believe....

I ran 12.2's on cheap ass kumho ecsta supra's in a 245/40/17 with a 2.4 60ft... Although, on nitto drag radials, I did 11.90's at the same boost with a 1.90 sixty foot. Had I gotten some Et street DR's, I would have run 3 tenths faster probably... ha. 11.90 @ 124 lol

no theyre not. they are inexpense and cheap.

I haven't done any full passes on my new 800 RWHP set-up.
With my old set-up (620RWHP), I did a best of 11.00@130MP. I will hit the track eventually. Still waiting on a crank pulley from ATI to show

Oh, and street tires at the track are as usless as pockets in underwear...

yeah i think it's because my intercooler is too big and piping is too small. also i found i had a small boost leak that day.
