I made it down to the local metal recycling place and picked up a sheet of 16ga Aluminum Plate to build the box for my meth tank and brace for the pump.

Not bad for $10

p1654799_1.jpg

Here it is all marked up and ready for cut and bend. I haven't yet decided on rivets or welds...

p1654799_2.jpg

And here she is all jacked up waiting for surgery! :)

p1654799_3.jpg

And not good news when I pulled the front wheels off. I have managed to ruin two new front tires in about 5k miles. This was after an alignment too!

Both fronts look exactly the same! Inner tread gone with fiber showing. :(

JUST finished the 107 pages... lol IMHO BEST BUILD THREAD!!! Love your car. great work done. About the wheels... but people have already said that shop was jerking your chain. i had Big-O mount my tires and sat right next to them to make sure they didnt touch the rim/lip. I'm guessing one day i'll get around to rebuilding the supra as a whole. oh and how do you justify all the car stuff to the wife my wife thinks i get too excessive or i'm just buying stuff i "don't need". haha

Wow, your tires got ate up quick. No alignment plus an average speed of 80+ miles per hour over that 5000 miles= tire destruction, lol.

Yikes! 5k? Kenny..

The wife corrected me. ;) It's more like 7k miles; but, still...that's waaaay premature.

Thanks for reading and for the compliments! :)

That wheel fiasco was something I definitely don't want to repeat. My next set of wheels will be a 5 Spoke and will have a sharp lip instead of a rolled lip.

My wife and I have an agreement. She has "her" fund and I have my "Kenny" fund and as long as neither one of us take food off the table we don't ask questions. Trust me......if she knew, I'd be in serious trouble! ;)

I love your car color by the way! Yummy! :)

Looks more like a front wheel camber issue rather than alignment.

Those are my thoughts too. At my last alignment appointment, I had them specifically check the camber. I'm running a slight (-) camber in the rear, which I don't mind; but, if there is any in front, I'm going to be a little upset because was told that it was within stock specs.

Kenny is driving the shit out of that Supra. Good job man. I like the jackstands. Harbor Freight for the win.

I drive it like I stole it baby! ;)

Yep, the orange ones are good ol HF Specials. Good eye! :)

Good work Kenny as usual. Have you decided rivets or weld? Rivets may not look as clean, but I think it would be easier than welding. However, I know you'll never take the easy way out! ;)

Anyhow, hope you don't mind my desktop setup! :D

Thanks Ron. I'm still undecided; but, am leaning toward Rivets. I may even roll some SS Rivets to keep it up to par. ;) I made it to where the only visible rivets will be on the bottom lid. So, even then, they will be covered by the rear carpet. I am going to polish it too. :D

I am truly honored to see that as your desktop! :)

Well, after a thorough inspection of the front suspension, I found a bad lower ball joint and leaking strut on the passenger side. The driver's side appears to be in order.

My coilovers will be here sometime next week and I went ahead and ordered to new lower ball joints today. They should be here late next week also.

In the mean time, I've been doing this:

^^ did you have any issues with the paint fish eyeing or anything like that. or what kind of prep work did you do and what kind of paint? these are mine. i did them in gold the first time. but i had to put tons of coats on so they didnt fish eye. even after using paint thinner and scrubbing them clean and all they still fish eyed a bit.

I did the typical prep work. Ran them through my parts washer, sanded, sprayed with brake clean a couple times, and then sprayed. No fish eye or related problems at all.

I used Rustoleum 500* Engine Enamel. That's typically my paint of choice.

Thanks for posting that because I wasn't sure if I wanted to paint the whole thing red or not. I also just noticed that you're running the same wheels as I am. Nice Taste! ;)

Can you post up a side view? With wheels mounted up...close up maybe...?

Make one mistake on SupraForums and you get chewed alive. On here, it is the samething, but there is more sarcasm too it. I hate all the cheap owners of MKIII's who give the rest of us who spare no needed expense to get our cars running and running right.

Good job Kenny, seems to be the common post in this thread.

How are those Cam gears working Kenny. They were new like I said, right?

The old gold calipers but i had those for years so i was ready for a change and before the smoked markers. i'm keeping an extra set so i can swap from all clear to all smoked.

Thanks Andy!

The cam gears are fine. We needed to replace some of the washers; but, other than that all is good. :)

Don't be silly! Your car is HOT! Dark/Gunmetal Gray is one of my favorite Supra Colors! Second to Black of course... ;)

I gotta say, the gold calipers have a nice appeal. I can't put my finger on why; but, they do. Red on calipers will always be a great standby color tho!

Thanks for the pics! :)

thank you! i'm really happy with how the color came out. when we were doing the jams i was a little worried at first cause it looked different from what it did in the can but i really like it. I was actually thinking going back gold after i'm tired of the red again. haha.. it also stuck better. HAHA ohh of course second to black right??? ;) lol everyone is usually pretty partial to their supra and i think it's better that way, that way you get diversity. so lol as far as your "wifes" fund and your "Kenny" fund two seperate accounts? does she work? or how you work it. haha You can PM me that if you like.

Ohh and happy new year here real soon.

Well I'm anxious to see how it comes out.

Glad you're honored. I'm just hoping that one day my car will make it to the Kenny scale! ;)

I didn't catch it, are those calipers stock or did you upgrade?

She's an Occupational Therapist and works per diem. She only puts in around eight hours a week just to keep her license current. We have our main checking and savings accounts; but, we each also have our own separate savings accounts which is where or "play" money resides. It's a little convoluted; but, it works! ;)

These are the stock calipers. I'm doing this for two reasons. One, is I wanted to see how red will look on my car for when I upgrade to Wilwoods. The second reason is because I can't spring for the Wilwoods right now so this will have to hold me over till I can. ;)
