Gold Cressida 7M-GTE
Yesterday I just recieved my freshly honed and decked block with new pistons and rings. The crank and rods were rebuilt units. The block was overbored .030"

Thanks to one of the members, I drove 340 miles round trip in the middle of nowhere for this!

I like the USDM turn signals better, don't you think? ;)

The bumper supports arent a big issue, but I did cut them because I didn't like them showing behind the grills. The Bumper support had to be cut from the side because the JDM supports are wide from the top. Nothing a torch couldn't take care of and a grinder to smoothen out everything. The thing looks nice after a coat of primer.

And with the JDM bumper, I got a generous amount of room for the intercooler. So I decided to make it alot easier to access the piping and raised it into tha face 2 inches. I also flipped it around and doing that I noticed a huge power gain. Maybe restrictions? I dunno, but I'm really ****ing happy :)

The bumper support was only trimmed half an inch. I'll be spraying it with undercoat- asphalt in a can so it'll prevent rust and provide sound deadening from wind.

I bought a new Grant wheel for my car :) Also installed the hood ornament.

The gauge cluster is done. I'll get better shots with the digital cam. The gauge cluster was painted graphite grey metallic. The dashboard will be black. Where the buttons used to be, that'll be housing my HKS turbo timer.

When I read the title, I aw "Cressida Twin turbo" so I read the thread and I'm thinking that's not twin turbo. -_-

Then I realized it's TWIN cressida turbo.

Man, I'm slow today.

Thank you all. I try to do my best to keep Toyotas original flagship cars, the Cressida and Supra, alive and impressive. I just wish Moe (suprastanger507mgte) would bring his Cressida to life. Toss a 1JZ in it!!

Did they machine the deck on this block? I dont see any markings... If they did, you shouldnt have those head gasket marks on the block...

The projects look great... Total sleepers!

The block was decked first, when I got it back them marks werent there. I was actually wondering when I took it back to the machine shop if they swapped me blocks or something after the overbore. I did know it was the same block because my block is unique. It has one of a kind rust spots in certain areas :D

I asked the guy at the machine shop what the heck and he said they placed a greased headgasket on top or something. I wasn't paying attention cuz i was on the fone.

MKIII-DRIFTKING, ask me alls you want! :) Come be my neighbor in cali. I'll help you put that Supra back together ;)

As for the picture quality, I know it sux cuz I dont feel like using my digital camera. My cell fone is always strapped to my belt so I do it the lazy way.

Some better pix of the emblem install. Brian also told me that the flap-less Cressida is hotter so I removed them just for him ;)

Most likely, next week it should be in the booth for a paintjob. After that, suspension mods, lower it to make the flap-less look alot cleaner. Then tint the head lights, side markers, tailights, windows, spray the whole interior with line-X, install my new interior with the Supra Seats and its a real car :)

wow, I can't wait. I love cressidas! You still haven't replied to my PM where I ask you about your front bumper and the trunk lip. :nono:
OOPs Sorry.

Heres the link to the Cressida forum. DM-Slider is currently working on a full JDM body kit shiped from Japan for the Cressida. The wing is a TRD wing designed for the Cressida in the USA bu the factory that molded them burned so that never made it to market.

The front lip on my Gold Cressida came off a 1987 Toyota Cressida. 87-88 Cressidas have a far more flared lip than the 85-86 Cressidas. The lip was installed then a torch was used to slightly melt the corners and ends to mate with the curves of the lower valance on the MX83s bubble chin.

Ok, lets go in order for today. As far as the gold Cressida, I started slapping the pistons and the rods together to gettem ready to go in the freshly bored block.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

You like my new 5spd Solara? ;)
sm_photo_missing.jpg

Now for the blue one. Finished the tail-light mod and bolted the supports for the front JDM bumper. Also sprayed rubberized clearcoat on the black side mouldings so it looks sharp.
