Hey guys,
Here's the sotry
There is a 87/88 two tone (dark blue/sliver) MKIII not to far from my house. It's been sitting on this guys drive for ages, at least a year. It never moves, no body troubles it. It just sits there
While the car needs some bodywork doing on it, and It's not running judging by the "I've broke down" note in the window, but the car is completely rust free and has 77,000 miles on the clock. It's also got a leather interior that I'd want for my car.
So I was wondering about maybe just knocking on this guy's door and offering him some cash to take it off his hands? The problem is, I don't want the guy to take my offer to buy his car the wrong way.
If I were to buy the car, it would probably be just for parts, or maybe to turn into a track car of some sorts, but I'm just not sure how successful the knocking on the door and flashing the cash method of doing things works.
Has anyone here managed to buy a car off someone that wasn't for sale?
Thanks
Josh
