If I had $1 for every time I've bought a car that way. Ussually get it cheap because it doesnt run and they know what it will cost to get it going.

^^ But they have probably gotten a quote from a main dealer or something, with murderous the labor costs. When you take labor out the equation, the cost of getting it running again won't be too high. I hope.

Haven't got around to seeing it today, I'll try tomorrow. I think I really need to plan long and hard what I'd do with this car if the guy is willing to sell. I vowed that I'd never part out a supra, but it could be a good money spinner so that I can get the Black car done up.

I think There is too much paintwork damage to flip it on for a profit, which leaves the chance to turn it into a full on track car, but then the black car might get neglected. :(

This is harder than I thought.

^ Sure, I know that and you know that, but they dont. They lose, you win. Well, I guess it's a win/win since they'll have the $$ instead of a car sitting in their drive.

*edit*
If you cant flip a mkIII for a profit, you paid way too much for something.

$1k for the car, $1k for an engine, sell for $3k+... I've done it about 3-4 times, took me about a month to sell each car.

This is the way I've budgeted -

£50 - £100 for the car
£300ish for an engine If the motor is completely dead
Bodywork - £500 - £1000. It needs a new passenger door and rear bumper at least. I doubt the pealing lacquer can be saved without a respray.

Unless I could make it one of the best examples in the country so It could command a £1500 - £2000 price tag, I can't see it be worth my time to restore.

The track day route seems also be to be a dead end route because of my age, which only realistically leaves breaking it. :(

If you do get it and have no use for it after getting the parts you want get me a price quote to have it shipped stateside.

I'd love to have a matching two-tone RHD to go with my two-tone LHD.

Yup, It's a Right hooker :)

Tom, I had no idea it has THAT rare, if you're serious about importing it, I'll certainly look into it for you.

just steal it, drift it around a few corners, put it in a container and ship it over.

done deal.

BRILLIANT!

In reality I have no idea what it would cost to import. I'm definitely interested in the idea of it though.
