Building my Dream 1jz supra :)

Update: Well, i was really freaking out about the noise. It seemed it was just coming on with boost. It sounded really funny, like a small motor under boost. It started making noise at 1lb of boost and went until i stopped boosting. Well, i got an idea and i turned off my AVC-R boost controller. Well no more noise. So it seems like one of the sensors or something that is connected to the boost controller is what causes the noise.

Also, DAMN! This engine is fricken fun as hell!!! Finally i know what it feels like to have a 1j. SO much power and so damn responsive! I wish i had known that plug was bad. It would have made the last few months much more fun.

Are you sure you have your avcr hooked up correctly. Mine doesn' make any noise at all when I'm boosting. You may have the vacuum lines reversed.

Yeah, it has never made noise until after i fixed the engine. I havent had time to look at it in the day, but something went weird when i worked on it. It sounds like the noise is coming from the map sensor location. I will check it out today. But running without it isnt that bad. It boosts 10 lbs no problem instantly now :) It is so fricken much fun! :)

If your hearing a clicking sound wile your boosting with the boost controller then its just the boost pressure solenoid, nothing to worrie about my AVC-R did the same thing and to fix the problem if you dont like that sound is put a piece or rubber on the bottom of that solenoid and that should take care of that sound...

Well assuming you have your vacume lines hooked up correctly anyways :p...

It was boosting fine, just noisy. I will double check later, but i didnt change the vacuum lines on the avcr when i was messing, only the map sensor for the engine and i didnt do anything, just disconnected it and reconnected it. I was trying to connect it closer to the throttle body opening, but i couldtn find a good place so i reconnected it where it originally was.
