Nope, I was suppose to, but had work obligations. DB is arranging a another Louisville meet, should be around mid April, early May. Hope to see you there, I will take off if need be to go this time. Did you meet trydrew at the last Louisville meet?

You don't need a supra. 2.0mm HG lol you Don't even know how much needs to be milled. I don't think you need a Supra nor a TSRM, I think you need basic knowledge and definately a lot more knowledge of turbocharged vehicles. Buy a HONDA and quit posting silly vague ?'s here. Use the search button.

*Edit* Good info in the above post.. Where is Beaver Dam? How far is it from Lexington?

ALL my frends fix up hondas thats why i wanted to go a diffrent route with the mk3 im picking it up this weekend ....but before i even do anything to it im going to make sure its running perfect hopefully it will give my frends hondas some competition

Glad to hear your going to make sure everything is in good . Thats what I did when I got mine and fortunately my compression turned out great. Good luck with yours. I would definitely get the HoseTechniques kit, I didn't do that and spent $50 replacing several hoses and lines. I plan on getting the hose techniques kit when it warms up. oh and Hondas are hardly competition for the Supra, I've wasted a few s2k's with light mods. I would also remove the valve covers, check your valve clearances and adjust if necessary, also while your there check the hg torque and re-torque to 70-72 ft./lbs if needed, Mine was still torqued to 58 ft./lbs when I got it. (original toyota hg, never BHG, 1 owner car). Is the supra your getting stock? GL with everything.

There are a couple different places, try the vedors section on here or google it...

Okay okay, just this once, go to suprasport.com and take a good long look through that site (stay away from the power adders for now, maintenance first my young grasshoppa ;)).

Don't order a HG yet, you want to order the HG after the head and block have been milled, this way you can figure out the thickness needed.

Starscream5000 - The meet isn't set up yet but will be in the regional section when everything is more finalized. I'm also trying to get us access to a local drag strip.(private access) My cousin is a part owner at Thornhill Raceway and is trying to pull some strings for us.

Have you had the head and block machined yet? Do not buy the MHG yet, you don't even know what size you need to keep it around stockish compression. When you install a MHG, you would be best off to pull the engine and take it to a machinist witha CBN machine and tell them to get the RA spec down to at least 20 and to remove as little material as possible from the head AND block to make them straight.

A MHG requires and VERY flat, VERY smooth surface to seal properly, If not, you just threw your money out the window. Don't fuck a MHG job up by rushing it ;).

BTW, ARP bolts AND studs? Tell us what exactly you are doing so I have a better idea of where to point you towards to be in the right direction.

Edit:: Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green is a quarter mile strip if you want one of those, we were going to go there last meet, but I think too many people backed out on that deal. It's actually about halfway between my place and Louisville ;).

i havent had the head and block machined yet i didnt even knoe i needed to do that i thought it was just going to be put the new hg on and radiator and start it up im starting to have second thoughts now about buying the car at all ..... but what if i take it to a mechanic how much would they charge me to get it running perfect?

Do you have any mechanical skills at all?

Are you willing to invest more time and money, than you have on any girl you've ever dated?

Then have I got the car for you... Toyota Supra!

Seriously, you say this is the first project car you've ever done. My suggestion, then, will be to pull the head off, and have it checked at a good machine shop. You need to find out if it's ever been cut before, and how much it needs to be cut now, to make it straight again.

THEN you order your head gasket (if you plan on a metal one).

Order ARP Head Studs - screw bolts, studs hold better ;) As for a radiator, just pick up a stock one for now.

Seriously, understand that what you all attempting to undertake is a very time consuming operation, and is not a cheap car to modify. But also understand - no Honda (save an NSX) is half as cool as a Supra. ;)

You seriously need to take a week or two and read through the tech sections on here, study the TSRM (Toyota Service Repair Manual), and research on how to install a MHG to correct way using the search function.

After you have done said things, THEN you may post up any questions you may have ;).

Damn you guys are harsh...

He seems to come across as a good, nice guy. Atleast he is here, on the site. It's better than someone else owning it who doesn't know jack about supra's and doesn't really care how he goes about mods... Give him a little slack; damn.

Lets hope the car is running perfectly...

Trying to think back when I was stock turbo.... I think you'll win, but not until about 80-90 MPH will you start to pull.

If either are turbo... I'd stay away.. a turbo GSR can run anywhere from 11 second 1/4 to 14... which is much faster than you'll be able to drive your car for the first couple months... Weeks if you catch on very fast, but be weary of driving it like you stole it; because you break shit like that.
And..

Breaking shit = $$$$ + knowledge to fix... Something you don't have to much of regarding supra's.

My friend's built NA B18 hatch pulls from STi's. You never know what you're getting into with those damn honda's. (it's usually the clean stock looking ones to be worried about)

That's very vauge man, it all depends on the mods of both cars. Very difficult to answer that question without knowing the full specs of both cars.

ok lets say a hatchback with a b18 non vtech and ebay a/r 60 turbo kit thats exactly whats on my frends car?
