Don't by a Supra, throw horsepower adders at it, all just so you can beat on some Honda's.
If you've got a passion or a serious hobby for it, then by all means go for it, but don't abuse and trash a Supra just to show some VTakkers that old school is the new school.

Like I said to begin with, I don't think a Supra is the car for you. At least not right now. It's been said, you don't know what your getting yourself into, these are not cheap cars to maintain and modify, and they demand a lot of your time. Oh and I wouldn't thrash on it if you plan on driving it when you first get it. You better use the search button and search for things to look for when buying a used Supra. Unfortunately I didn't know of SM before I bought my car but I got a good find, I just paid way to much for what was needed to be done.GL in what you do but I would really recommend something else to get your experience/knowledge on. Something cheaper to spin some wrenches on. Oh and pulling the head won't do for a MHG job. You need to yank the whole engine and measure both the head and the block.

By all means give it a shot and post it up in the kills section on here, but remember, maintenance first .

An AWD car acts a lot more like a FWD that RWD BTW . Go out and get used to the way your car handles, fix you old worn out crap on the car first though...

Hollisterguy, seriously, you seem like a guy who wants to go fast. Everyone wants to go fast (I hope). Herein lies the issue. These old cars are extremely upgradeable, however, you can't buy one that has a couple upgrades and just go fast. There is a possibility this car was totally taken care of, and is a blank canvas ready to paint, but I doubt it. If you drive the hell out of this car, it WILL break without really taking your time to get it right. I know, I found out the hard way, and it cost me unnecessary money and lots of time. I say listen to these guys, they know a lot about these cars, and they are just trying to help, but when a newbie like you or me comes in and asks questions like "how much boost" or "can I beat a #$&% with my car, you get flamed. I came in and read hundreds of posts, got a TSRM (I live by it now) and then started asking intelligent questions.
When I got my car, I maintained the hell out of it, put a new HG in, pretty much replaced the entire cooling system, amongst a host of other maintenance items, and it still blew up after 6 weeks. Yes it is a Toyota, and yes they are incredible cars, and yes they can be reliable, but like I mentioned above, your car is 19 years old, and it will break, a lot, and if you are looking to get into a Honda-like situation where you just put gas into it, you are seriously barking up the wrong tree with this car. I am not trying to dissuade you, and neither are the rest of these guys, but the way you came across was very ricer, and this car is not a ricer (no offense ricer guys/gals).
This car will become part of you, and you will love it to death, and yes you will hate it sometimes as well.
Give it the attention it needs!!!!!

which is probably older than you, and not only does cblguy mean your car will break but it will most definitely make you broke if you don't do what everyone is telling you to do, start with hoses... you know what fuck it, what was the page that had all the "stages" you should go through when modifying a mk3 supra? was it one of the sonic pages or reg reimer's pages? anyway i'll post back when i find it, it's got what you should do and the power you should expect, holding constant that you've done everything in all of the "stages" before that....
