i would attempt the body work with help and guidence.my garage is deffinatly no place to paint a car though.
i will most likely trade my service's for part of the work.i'm a certified auto glass tech and remove glass part's for them to clip car's.they still give you high quote's because they make all there money doing insurance job's,hanging quarter's and fender's.winter they are busy because of all the snow.you have to hit them up during the summer month's

FT: LOL I paint really well I just HATE the prep work ;)
(And the Mk3 has a LOT of shape in the shell)

I'm with you IJ, I used to do bodywork for a living - so I can certainly do just about anything in that area myself. More often than not, I find myself paying one of my old coworkers to do a side job for me. It's just not something that brings me enjoyment any more.

I also am very lucky that one of my buddies is just a magician when it comes to getting everything just so - I would feel bad knowing that the work could have been done a tad better for an affordable fee.

If you know an EXPERT in this field and can get them to do things reasonably - the money you pay will be well worth the satisfaction each and every time you look at your car.

My point exactly. We're all good at something, some of us may not have found what it is yet, but everyone has a calling. I build things so I'm not going to tackle pulling my wisdom teeth, even though I'm pretty sure I could get them out. I'm going to go to someone a little more qualified...........:biglaugh:

Well, if you use a Bomex rear with bomex sides - the lip is uniform.

Or, if you use a Kaminari rear with kaminari sides = the lip is uniform.

You can't really expect to use Bomex rear and Kaminari sides and expect it to be perfect.

Oh, I most definitely agree. The sideskirts are OK, but I cannot stand the front or rear.

I was simply commenting about the person who was upset that the bottom of many of the cars were not uniform. The point was that the way to get a consistent line at the bottom was to use a kit that matched.

lol and I thought someone was answering my question. So I think the rims are the Volk GTC. Do they come in black and does anyone know what kind of exhaust that is?

Manny's car and another red Mk3 in Toronto are the reasons I bought my car. Pictures don't do that car justice.
