When you talk about checking clearances on the new oil pump what do you mean exactly? Like make sure all the moving parts clear the pump or is there more involved like measurements?

I mocked up the new oil pump and new aN line. Had to modify the pan on the side with the elbow aN bend. Seems like it will fit when I put the pan on.
This is how the line is run on driftmotion website:

This is how I tried to run it? Will this work if it all fits in the pan or does it need to be like the first picture? If so I will need to do some more hammering

Follow the TSRM on checking the oil pump, youre also supposed to prime the oil pump before installing to make sure it works.

Hopefully I'll be back in town a bit early, so I'll be able to get with you asap.

I've got a brand new 2mm HKS gasket also, just took it out of the bag to set on the block then put it back in the bag lol. If you need it let me know, I'll cut you a good deal if you pick up the CT also :D

BTW: Block looks damn good.

What are you needing powdercoated and what color? I have some stuff at my house and I like to powdercoat. Let me know what you've got and and I'll let you know how much it will be. I'll promise you that you can't turn it down. I'm only doing it to help you and not to get rich.

Suprahero ~ What colors do you have? I mainly want my valve covers, termostat housing, oil pan and ex mani sheilds painted but I know some of the items may need ceramics! Lemme know what your thinking? We also going to check with a friend of a friend that does powder coating down the street...

Update* starting to go crazy as I have a ton of parts but having trouble with what I need. Replaced the rear main seal and new rear gasket but can't find the freakin bolts to bolt back the cover. GRRRR

I have the chrome, black chrome, and black. I tried to do my exhaust in the black and it ended up burning off. Let me know if those colors will work for you. If not, you buy me a pack of the color from Summitt and I'll do the powdercoating for you for free.

Agreed!!!!

The sad part is that I even have a shit load of parts diagrams my dad printed off for almost every part of the engine. Shows where they go and part numbers! It's just hard to know where to start when you've got a lot of parts. All I did today was get the new real main seal and gasket installed and bolted up. I attempted to bolt my front timing cover on but I am missing one long bolt for it... I blame the machine shop!

Really I can't do a whole lot right now until I get the head shaved and whatnot, order the MHG and all that goodness. Going to call Scroggins tomorrow to see if they are open and if they are I plan to take the head down there so they can start working on that! Maybe they won't charge me twice this time!!!!:3d_frown:

The problem occurs when you get to much stuff at one time and you lose track of what all you've got and where it all goes!!!! AHHHHHH:aigo:

I totally hear what you are sayingg, that problem and also the one of remembering to use the new parts you bought rather than put it back together with the old parts

Question for smart ppl of SM. Can I use a 2.0mm HKs metal headgasket for my build? I had 0.127mm taken off the block and haven't had the head shaved as of yet. What would need to be taken from the head? Or would it be okay to take the minimum off the head and just have lower compression?

Painting my exhaust manifold heat shields in high temp black paint. Not painting the actual manifold but I applied some rust kill/prevent to it...

Ideally you should wait untill the head has been shaved, and then pick a headgasket accordingly. You dont want to take more than you have too off the head so you still have room to shave it again if you need too someday. When picking your head gasket thickness choose the one that gives you the combination of comp ratio & quench area closest to your goals.
