Hey guys/gals, I am toying with the idea of making an Aluminum blockoff plate, similar to the carbon fibre one Duane has on his car. Is anyone else interested. If I have an idea of how many people would want one I can see about a group discount. Let me know. Thanks.

Under the hood, between the two headlights, in front of the radiator, and over the IC.

I do not have a price yet, purely interested in finding out if anyone else sould be interested at all.

Not dumping on your idea but doesn't the hood seal with rubber strips in that area?

Is this just a cosmetic thing?

No, it doesnt seal there.

He's talking about an intercooler block off plate.

Assuming it fits properly, without modification and is of high quality, I will buy for your reasonable asking price.

I think price will be the deciding factor for everyone here.
If you told me $200 for one I'd tell you to fuck yourself. But if you said, say $50 I'd be down :)

Well now isn't that a great response. It will most likely be more than $50.00 but hopefully a lot less than $200.00.

No sacrcastic responses needed to see how many people are interested though.

Thanks for the input.

Bleh, sarcasm's in my nature--sorry it's not in yours. I simply stated that price would be the deciding factor, and threw a little humor into it. Check your mail, I think the "shut-off" notice may be in there for your sense of humor.

:D c'mon man loosen up, have a little fun with it :)
Keep us up to speed as to how much they may be.

LOL, Don't worry man I take and give sarcasm with the best of them. I will keep you up to date. should have a price within the next week or two. Depends on quantity.

Just for info, in case anyone wants to know, I have talked with Duane about this piece and gave him the opportunity to make this piece first but he told me he could not make this in Aluminum due to the fact that the piece is too big for him to machine. I do not want to wait months for him or anyone else to think about if they can make it. I did not want to step on any toes and would never have started this post if he could have provided what I was wanting for my car.

Just sent this in a PM but thought some of my points might be of interest to others:

I'm definitely interested, but it depends mostly on the design. I think a hinged setup would be best since it would allow you to check on the overflow tank. Another thing to note would be the edge of the plate itself. I think you'll need some kind of rubber lip around it to prevent it from damaging the car from rubbing. I have the CFX one and the plate has rubbed off paint from my car in certain 'friction fit' spots.
