Is there a way to smooth my block fom a bhg without takin it out of the car? I'd really like to do this myself (hg job) but I feel like I'm guna hafta take it somewhere

giterboosted;1535803 said:Oh I'm no newb to mhg's, before it blew it was making ~400 rwhp, not really sure why it blew, don't junk the previous owner ever retorqued, but anyway I usually get tubby on here to do my hg jobs for me but I was guna try this one on my own and wast sure if I HAD to or not, one more question, how do I know what ra spec I need for a certain gasket?
Failure14;1535813 said:Someone correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure anything under 25-30 RA is good and will hold a MHG.
I know HKS has a specific RA limit on there gaskets that they recommend staying under, maybe thats where im getting
the 25-30? Regardless the lower the better.
Just make sure they have a 7M torque plate, if not, keep looking.
I see your in the georgia area so im sure supracentral could give you some
really good reputable machine shops, and others on here could too.
But anyways most machine shops will know what there doing, but dont be afraid to check there work...
When you get the head back, run your finger nail across the head and make sure it doesn't get caught.

giterboosted;1536104 said:Not to be rude to failure but thanks, I was wondering bout that cus there's not really too many supras around here, and I'm still debating letting tubby do it, as he is a pro and is only about 50 miles away give or take

Giter/Everyone else: Please disregard EVERYTHING Fail posts in tech.

What part of my post says anything close to "When they resurface the block/head make sure they use a torque plate" ?
