I have always drilled the head off when this happens. Seen it happen a few times. Wasnt an uncommon occurance back when Toyota had the HG TSB/recall on certain V6's.

I will probably try some of these things simultaneously like the epoxy and an oversized torx/allan bit. I really don't think an allan bit will work at this point cause it's like perfectly round on the top now and the metal is all very soft.

YES...., I know.
I was just trying to aid the guy in his quest of knowledge man.

I figure if you're going to try epoxy, use the good shtuff.

I See where I should have read a bit further. Thanks.

Go the Torx then!

Forget the epoxy it's not going to do jack shit other than make a mess.

Take Hommer's advice and retorque the remaining bolts to take some of the tension off the problem child.

Well praise God, I got the rounded bolt out, took all remaining bolts out, and finally got the head to the machine shop! I'm extatic! I mean I've still got a LONG ways to go before it's back running, but atleast I'm at the half way point now. Now it just comes down to buying the stuff I need to get her running.

Thanks for the tips!!

Well I took the camshaft out, tried to see if I could get a T-60 torx to fit but it was way too big, so I ended up taking a 10mm hex bit, beat it in with a hammer good and hard, tried tightening it a bit to see if I could maybe currect the bolt a bit and realized it had dug in real well, so I managed to get it out like that. I must have hit the thing pretty hard cause now I can't get the hex bit back out, LOL!

No I could get to it just fine. There were a few bolts the cam blocked but I put the sprockets back on and turned the camshaft when I needed to.

Truth be told I don't know how I managed to get it to bite correctly other than it just being a straight up blessing. I don't care now though. I'm just glad it's over with. I have been worrying myself sick trying to think of some way to fix this.

Good for you man ;)
This is one of those cases where a hammer is actually the appropriate tool. Once the ARPs go on, there will be no more messing with hex heads!

Well I had decided against blowing $100+ on a set of ARP head bolts but I may have to rethink it if they are that much better. Lord knows I don't wanna ever be stuck in that situation again. Although, if I ever have another problem with the head gasket on this monster I probably will not dive into it again myself. Can't say it was overly hard, just a royal pain.

The stock head bolts are pretty strong, but they have their limitations (as you found out).
Given a choice between ARP bolts vs studs...I'd choose the studs, no question.
