I just got 24.4 MPG on my last fill-up. I was trying to go easy this time around and it worked. I still floored it more than a handful of times, but not as often as normal. I normally get 20.5 and I track my mileage like NOBODY else I've ever heard of. Seriously. I can post the excel spreadsheet if anyone wants to see how much of a dork i am. :)

I filled up today and I plan on going easy to see what difference I can make. The goal is 26 MPG.

Or you can swap in 1gfe. 105 hp. Stock motor for supra. 2.0 ltr inline 6. I think its better to push the car myself than having 1gfe in my car.

no. 1g-ge came in ga70 supras, not 1g-fe, and they both made more power than 105hp.
that's what the internet tells me anyways.

Notice how I'm editing my post rather than making a new one. This was my intention all along. Therefore, my post count is not added to unnecessarily and I remember to revisit the thread.

E85 will get worse mileage, as last I checked, stoich was 9:1 and it has less BTUs. However, because of its higher octane (100-104) and evaporative qualities, you can run leaner with it when not under load. Also, you can get the mileage back by increasing static compression. This is something not often done in the forced induction world; instead, we go with dynamic compression by adding boost.

I also wanted to say that yes, you DO have to pay to play with Supras; hell with cars in general. However, there is no need to dump extra fuel when not boosting, and asking how to get better mileage is perfectly reasonable, assuming they know that they wont ever get more than 30 mpg or so at best in impossible situations.

IMO it is possible to get 27-30 repeatable mpg if you drive dynamically and consciously; stay out of boost, engine brake, dont give it much throttle, etc. Overinflated tires, a tune, and a tune-up are all excellent ideas as well. These together are how I get 35 mpg consistently in a Miata that is rated for no more than 30

Also, drive windows up and turn off the A/C when accelerating.

Well, in the future, should you wish to subscribe to a thread prior to announcing your brilliance, there is a selection under "Thread tools" for just that purpose.

LPG is perfectly "doable" up to around 400rwhp, after that it becomes a hassle to get enough control over the system to get good power/economy/drivability in a forced induction car.

Add to this the lower BTU value of the fuel which means you must burn more to get the same power as petrol and it becomes problematic.

Here LPG is around 1/3 the price of petrol so makes great economic sense not to mention a Govt subsidy that pays for around 80% the initial install means for a DD it's a no brainer.

My power requirements passed the 400rwhp mark a few years back and it's been a battle ever since trying to get 100% mixture control working.

I'll be tuning my Petrol setup for the best mileage under cruise conditions as I can and will update my thread as I go.

I'm just sick of those posts... absolute garbage. "In to subscribe" complete waste of time, mine and there's.

One more thing that'll save mileage is driving with your windows up at anything past 30mph. According to a couple studies (both independent and government, IIRC), driving with your windows up and the A/C on while cruising at or above highway speeds uses less gas than driving with your windows down.

1000% true. That's what the oil co's have figured out: "Higher salaries and cheaper gas than Europe, what is the US consumer bitching about"? So I'm keeping my dd (44 mpg) no matter what.

ViR2 is in Lithuania and their currency (the Lita) I can't comment on. However, the Euro, which is the main currency in Europe, is crushing the Dollar. The Euro, which was worth $0.86 in January 2002, is now worth $1.57. That an 83% increase. As a result, I certainly won't be buying a Porsche next time around whereas my German in-laws are looking for Florida beachfront. This includes some from the former DDR (East Germany) that never worked a hard day in their life. Sure, they pay more for gas than us. But let's not forget that they have an effective public transportation system that makes automobile ownership mostly optional. They also got free health care, twice as much vacation and enjoy a better retirement. So I have plenty too bitch about. Compared to us the Europeans are doing quite well.

I'll know the US is really hurting when I see the "Sponsor a Kiddie In California" ads on TV here.

I can remember our $ being close to 50c US not so long ago, this is both good and bad. Bad if selling to the US good if buying.
