You can't just turn off the injectors to a couple cylinders and expect an increase in mileage... remember, unless you can keep the exhaust valves for the cut cylinders open you're still wasting power having to compress the incoming air.

E85 well never be much cheaper the amount of energy it takes to make makes it less cost effective in act in time it well be far more expensive and dont beleave all the media say its geared to blind people from the truth most of the time.

you want cheap this well be as cheap as it ever gets ever
try this its just a starter site http://www.water4gas.com/2books.htm im not goinng to star listing all kinds of sites but try youtube too. there is lot to learn but dont expect much help in less you find the right type of forum for this and then youll just get tips , on this kind of thing it seems everyone tries to keep their secrets since STAN MEYER got killed when he figured out how to get his car to run on just water alone
the mileage isn't really double with the simple kit you can make it your self to but if you do some research bmw is exploring and the military and nasa are already using this type of technology

That's cute, thanks for the scrolling guys!

If you drive the car without boosting at all, it will help alot. Good luck with that! You should also start to pay attention to the red lights a little more. If you are on a busy street with a lot of lights, and you leave a light at about the time the next one starts to turn red.......take it out of gear and coast, while letting the car idle. Who cares if you are letting off while everyone else is still gassing it. Hopefully your coasting will allow the light to change back before you have stopped, and you can save some of the accelerating you would have done if you hurried up and got there and were sitting waiting. If the guy be hind you gets pissed, he can live pissed or change lanes. He doesn't buy your gas. If he hits you, it's his fault. I'm not saying to impede traffic too much, just don't waste the gas to get there and sit.

You can also see a stale light turning as soon as someone comes up from the side roads. Either slightly increase your speed to make it if you are close enough, or get ready to let off.

Remember that anytime you use your brakes or downshift, you are using gas you didn't have to if you would have just planned better.

Coasting while in gear can save you gas over coasting at an idle... provided you're going down hill or intent on slowing the car anyway.

Another thing that will help some of you is to try and remember to drive with the transmission one gear higher than you usually do.

Most Supras that I've driven are not to be blamed for their poor mileage. I can get anything from only 16MPG all the way up to 24MPG, all city, depending on how I drive. (and that's not even babying it full time.)

now I dont talk about gearing much, does one gear higher mean one higher number? I dunno what it is that makes me confused.
maybe cause a higher number could be a higher gear, or a higher RPM is a higher gear.... blah

like....cruise in 5th rather than 5th? I've been wondering if its more economical to use 3rd or 4th in the 40mph range...

What was meant there is to drive in 4th rather than 3rd while driving 35-40 MPH. The theory is to move up to the higher number gear, so that your RPM's drop, thus using less gas.

True, although there is also an area where the numbers overlap. It's where the throttle is being held open enough that the ECU is adding more fuel than would be needed at a higher RPM and less throttle.

Easy there, Nocheez cheap cars do exist.

I bought a 94 Geo Prizim about 2 months ago for 250$. Yes Two hundred and fifty.
Put in a new clutch and runs great.

I have been averaging 38mpg. with 200,000 miles on the engine.

Did you see the article? She paid $7300 for a GEO METRO. A car that was $9000 back in 1995! She paid more than 5 times the KBB of the car!

Yes I read the news.

Its called demand, people start spending more than what they should for these cars just because they want better economy.

Some people are smarter than others, these people are not, they are impulse buyers.

I know this. I calculate that she'd have to drive 80,000 maintenance free miles to make up for the premium she paid on that car (at $4 a gallon) to make up the difference on what she overpaid for that car. Simply laughable.

It really is.
Maybe I will sell mine and make a nice profit.
lol

Actually I like going 380+ miles on 10gallons of gas, so I probably wont.

You can even increase your mileage by running a lighter weight oil... running the lowest octane you can without knocking... tires full of air... new bearings on EVERYTHING... lighter rims... lighter tires (see: narrow)... refuse passengers... and so on. If you're going to all these lengths though you're better off turbo charging a Metro. ;)
