gotta be a joke,

but then again, I knew this kid a few yrs younger than me that told me when I was about 20 yrs old that he an his G/f were out in her car, an they stopped at a gas station an he checked the oil an seen that it was low, so, the kid bought some 10 qts or some rediculuos amount an just started pouring it into the engine thinking it was full when he saw oil from the filler cap instead of the dip stick,

no lie....

^ I can believe that.

One my way to the last KY supra meet/dyno this year I was at a gas station less than a mile from the dyno. A woman pulls up beside me in a Ford Focus, just a clattering away and sounding like shit. She pops the hood, checks the oil. I come over and offer assistance. She said the car was low so she added oil. I check the oil, the full point was about 6" above the full mark! So I, being a good person and all, offered help. I jacked up the car, emptied about 5 quarts out of it until it was back to the full level, had her start the car. Still clatering away. Nothing to do for it at that point. I told her to take it to a mechanic right away because she propbably FUBARed the car.

BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!

does anyone know if it's a joke? he only posted 3 times and all his posts said "I'M A DIPSHIT" loud and clear...

ninja edit - thread says 'everyone knows its a joke' a few times...so i think it is.

oh well...

if it was real, at least he couldn't reproduce, he wouldn't know where to stick it.

Yes it is a very OLD joke...

same as the corvette I believe it is... that wanted to run his exhaust into his intake... since the air was already compressed... no exhaust at all just intake...

I started reading that thing... Stopped... Slapped myself because I thought I was THAT tired and dreaming... and restarted.

I'm not that engine savvy compared to most of the other guys here but that guy makes me feel like Einstein...

There was a guy in a BMW forum a few years back who claimed to got a shop rag sucked into his valvecover. Even if they aren't true, it's pretty funny.

^^ I could, almost, see that happening. He probably stuck the rag in there, and the cam or rocker arms snatched it.
I found a full tube of silicone under the intake on a 350 in a Chevy p/u. It had to have been there quite a while, as oil was cooked to the outside, and the silicone was hard.
I found a small plastic grocery bag wedged into the fuel pressure regulator on the 85 rx-7 I have at the shop. No clue how it got there, and couldn't even begin to guess.
A guy had a z24 Cavalier(early body style) at the shop next door for a motor. He wanted to know if they could put a "small block 454" in it, and if it would cost any extra.
Customer's bring us vehicles that they can't get running. They've changed coils, dist. caps, crank sensors, etc. They get really red when we charge them $10 for gas...
My favorite is to get in a vehicle with bhg's, that the customer swears never overheated, to find a picture of kids, significant other, etc., stuck in front of the temp gauge.

Pontiac made a 454 small block. My gf thought the valve covers were my turbo
