I've got to say that never in my life have I seen that much play on a shifter in gear. Is this normal for worn out bushings or was yours just a bad example with completely shot bushings? My car had 210,000mi on it when I bought it and it was tight as can be. The PO must have replaced them.

very nice. i didnt even have a bottom bushing when i pulled my R154 from the turbo car... which explains why i didnt even know it was in gear while we were pushing it off the trailer!!! Marlin Crawler FTW!!!!

yeah i guess mine was just a really bad example. the cup at the bottom was very deformed and the bushing was nice and flat. the marlin crawler hadda be like 3-4 times as thick. im just glad its fixed

FYI I have short throw shifter, not sure if it's the ebay one or c's(it came with the car), and the marlin crawler socket bushing at the end of the shifter doesn't grab the ball like the Toyota bushing, seems too big to me, so I ended up buying a new Toyota piece. To anyone with the marlin bushing, does it fit the stock shifter without falling off?

I don't recall how bad the play was with my previous bushing, but I sure do love how the MC bushings feel now compared to a buddy's shifter.

BTW, how hard was it for you to get the bushing into the socket? Took me about 30+ minutes to wrestle it in using the method provided in the video.

My brother's old Eclipse was like that, it's pitiful and it sucks because by just looking you could be in first OR fifth gear at any given time haha.
